Did you know that Loxley Forest is home to a collection of 8 charming waterfalls. One of our absolute favorites is Fox Falls, a magnificent cascade that steals the show with its impressive 78-foot drop along Lox Creek. Nestled in a natural basin, this waterfall creates a captivating amphitheater-like setting, where the melodious sound of rushing mountain water harmonizes with the sweet symphony of singing birds and an array of beautiful natural wonders. It’s the perfect spot for a delightful picnic! The rocks that frame the falls provide a comfortable seating and dining arrangement, but don’t forget to bring a cozy blanket as the mist may leave the rocks slightly damp- along with your pants. For #smallbusinesssaturday we visited one of Dahlonega’s best sandwich shops today for lunch! @cornerkitchendahlonega serves breakfast and lunch from 7am-3pm Monday through Saturday. They have lots of homemade sides and desserts to choose from also. We got the BLT and their roast beef sandwich! Both were incredible! Check them out and grab a sandwich for your hike, picnic or to take back to your tree tent!!

How thrilling it was to witness such a unique and extraordinary scene unfold! During forest rush hour, we were fortunate enough to spot a family of four minks, presumably returning to their den after a hunting expedition. It was fascinating to observe mother mink guiding and refining the skills of her adorable offspring. These minks play a vital role in our ecosystem, and their cuteness and entertaining nature only add to the excitement of watching them. #minkmonday

We definitely love the sunshine in the forest, but we were due for a little rain! Love how it brings out the greens even more and of course we love when the creek is higher!

Join us for an afternoon at 52WestBrewing ! As we drove up to the brewery, we were immediately drawn in by the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains and the charming atmosphere that radiates from this place. As soon as I step out of my car, I can hear live music playing and the sound of laughter from those enjoying themselves.Taking a look around it's plain to see that this farm to pint brewery has something for everyone. There are outdoor games like cornhole, an intimate outdoor amphitheater set up for those who want something to sing along and tap their feet to while they relax with a cold beer. The inside of the brewery is bustling with people playing board games, talking about their day, or just enjoying some good food.As I make my way to the bar, I am greeted by friendly faces and offered samples of some of their local beers. All of them are delicious! As I sit at the bar and drink my beer, a voice from behind me introduces himself as one of the owners – I quickly understand where all the Canadian Charm that surrounds this place comes from. With little ones running around, great people, brews and food, you'll truly feel like you’re family. You may even be treated to a meet and greet with Hamish and Fergus! The two steer wandering about.

I love the changing of seasons. Even though I always get sad to see each one leave, it’s so exciting to watch how the forest evolves with each change of season. As we move closer to summer, I am loving seeing the deep greens and watching the forest fill in! It’s also the perfect season to dip your feet in the creek!

We visited the cutest family owned farm this week! The Blue Bench Garden offers fresh baked goods, seasonal produce, fresh cut flowers and many other garden gifts! We were so excited to find this Dahlonega gem as we love eating local and organic! They update their social media regularly with their weekly and daily offerings! We don’t let trees go to waste here at Loxley Forest! This old timer was standing dead and had to be put to rest for the safety of our guests. But that’s not the end of it’s story! itting in the woodlands of Loxley Forest on a rainy day, the atmosphere is so soothing. The tree canopies provide a cozy shelter from the rain, and the soothing sound of raindrops hitting the canvas of the tree tent create a peaceful atmosphere. It’s all beckoned me to slow down and listen with my ears and senses. In my cup, steaming hot coffee, its warm aroma mixing with the fresh scent of spring air. Gazing out, I’m mesmerized by the vibrant colors of new life in the forest - greens, pinks, yellows, and purples all blending together against a backdrop of grey sky and misty fog. I am enraptured by the peacefulness of this moment and I am overcome with a feeling of contentment. I think I’ll just sit here a little while longer…

We had the most wonderful time this weekend in downtown Dahlonega! My Vintage Gypsy Teas put on the sweetest (and most delicious) tea party we have ever been to! It was Alice in Wonderland themed and we loved seeing all the costumes and decor! We met new friends and enjoyed their sensational teas and treats. We always love stopping in this cute store whenever we are downtown, the people there are so kind and we love trying new teas! They were also just featured in Southern Living Magazine’s article on Dahlonega! We absolutely recommend you stopping in when you’re in town and we will definitely be putting their teas in all of our rentals!
