•Must be on track to meet the minimum accounting hours required for fulltime employment in the practice area for which they are interning.
•Must be on track to meet the GPA requirements for the practice area for which they are interning.
•Must begin work on, or up to two weeks prior to, the first day of New-Hire Orientation.
•Must be employed a minimum of ten (10) weeks and attend Technical Training, if appropriate for the practice area for which they are interning. Program Goals
•To provide a satisfying and challenging work experience for the intern, where he or she is truly exposed to the type of work that could be expected as a fulltime employee.
•To serve as a valuable talent acquisition tool for future hires. An intern’s experience, whether positive or negative, will be shared with friends, roommates, professors, etc. Former interns, who have a successful internship experience, can prove to be a highly valuable marketing tool that can increase name recognition for Ryan on campus and in the marketplace. Intern Objectives
•Participate in group/task-specific training provided by team members, as well as broad/cross-practice information sharing sessions.
•Gain an understanding of Ryan’s business and work environment.
•Assume responsibility for work outlined in team performance plans.
•Receive ongoing feedback in addition to mid-assignment and final written evaluations. Firm Objectives
•Build name recognition on campus through positive intern experiences.
•Evaluate the intern’s performance to determine if there is a match for fulltime employment.
•Expose the intern to all functions within the assigned practice area for learning and evaluation purposes.
•Work with the intern to set goals for the duration of the internship.
•Facilitate ongoing feedback between manager and intern throughout the internship. Components of the Program
Duration
Internship assignments will last a minimum of ten (10) weeks and will include New-Hire Orientation and Technical Training, if appropriate to the assigned practice area. This period provides the intern with sufficient time to become acquainted with the work of the practice and make a more informed decision about his or her desire to work for Ryan on a fulltime basis. Similarly, the manager and team will have sufficient time to observe the intern in a professional setting and evaluate his or her longer-term potential for success. Training and Development
The intern will participate in Ryan's New-Hire Orientation and Technical Training programs, both hosted in Dallas, Texas. The Professional Development Department and the Technical Training Department are responsible for communicating all training-related details, including travel arrangements.
