Arrive at the airport as early as possible. Passengers traveling without a form of identification will have to go through interviews with TSA officers to establish their identity and most airlines will not refund tickets for people who missed their flights due to a lost ID.

The thing I love most about traveling is the education that comes with it.

Aruba was no exception. It’s nothing like what I expected. For instance, I had no idea it is a desert island! πŸ˜†

I was expecting lush green grass accompanied by colorful foliage and tropical scenery, and what I saw was a lot of brown and cacti 🌡.

Still, my trip was amazing and the people of Aruba are truly its best asset.

These are just a representative sample of photos from my tours of the place called One Happy Island.

The Aloe Vera farm has 30,000+ plants, all farmed and harvested the old fashioned way - by hand!

We also visited the stone garden which was such a serene and peaceful place, that I could feel the presence of God there. I can easily imagine myself going there to pray and commune with God if I lived in Aruba. There is no charge and the maintenance is done by the people of Aruba.

And then there were the Bushirinana Oldmill ruins, on the β€œrough side” of the island, (with very choppy waters) where people actually do go to pray along the shore. Each rock on the rock towers there represents someone’s prayer. And there were MANY! πŸ™πŸΎ

The California lighthouse was the last stop before heading to a private beach to take in the sun and enjoy the cool water.

We also enjoyed a sunset cruise on another day, which was beautiful even with the low-level clouds on the horizon.

While it wasn’t what I expected, Aruba was definitely worth the trip. The people were so friendly and welcoming and I understand why they call It
One Happy Island. πŸ’™ πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ό 😊

For those hitting the ocean and waves this summer.
Reminder:
This is really simple. You can spot a rip current. Unfortunately, it's where it looks easiest and safest to enter the sea. This is because the rip current is looping around and pulling back OUT. Hence no waves rolling IN. NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE. If you are already in the sea and get caught in a rip current (you'll know because you will suddenly be moved from your location and it will be impossible to swim against it) don't panic. Swim ACROSS, not against the rip current. For example, rather than trying to swim to shore while being pushed out, swim parallel to the beach and you will be able to get out. Then you can swim ashore. Please educate friends or family visiting the beaches this summer. Stay safe πŸ™
