Yesterday was our final stop, the charming town of Enkhuizen. It sits on a harbor with lots of shopping and dining opportunities. We were treated to “Candy Crush” onboard and our last night dining with new friends. I’m already looking forward to my next river cruise, wherever it may be!
Today was Rotterdam and Kinderdijk. Most of Rotterdam is quite modern as it was wiped out during the war. The highlight was sailing past the former Rotterdam. Kinderdijk is where the windmills are. Another great day in the Netherlands! 🇳🇱
My morning was Middelburg with oysters and lobster, we cruised to Veere for the afternoon for a walking tour. Dinner was fantastic! I’m so enjoying river cruising!
We started out the day with a walking tour of Bruges including a canal ride. Our next stop was Ghent, both cities were full of unique architecture and interesting sites. It was a beautiful day to be outside, almost 6 miles in for the day!
Antwerp was excellent! We took an included shore excursion via Avalon and had a fantastic guide to introduce us to this unique city. The highlight was the Cathedral, 15th largest in the world. We had some Belgian beer, chocolate and the best mussels. Dinner aboard the Avalon Passion was a food/beer pairing. It was great being steps away from such an amazing city.
We had 2 stops today, the first was Schoonhoven, a quaint and quiet town. The 2nd was Dordrecht, Holland’s oldest city. It was absolutely charming and we had a precious guide. I love being docked, taking a few steps, and being in the heart of these amazing destinations.
My 1st day aboard the Avalon Passion has been amazing. I love that there are less than 200 guests onboard. There are a lot of nice inclusions and the staff has been so welcoming.

I’m headed to Amsterdam to experience my 1st river cruise. I’m excited to sail in one of Avalon’s panoramic suites as I sail through Holland and Belgium. Stay tuned for lots of posts!
My 3 night cruise aboard the MSC Seashore is over. MSC receives mixed reviews. My group had a great time. Some bar service was slow, but the drinks were good and decent wine choices on our Easy Plus package. Dining room food was better than my previous MSC cruises, buffet at peak breakfast and lunch times was crowded. My group felt as though we had great value for what we paid, our day at Ocean Cay was especially nice. It’s a family friendly ship with water slides and pool areas. Kids even have their own buffet area. MSC is one of the best values right now, if this looks good to you, let me know!
Ocean Cay is one of my favorite private islands. The water is crystal clear and the grounds are beautiful. We had a great time kayaking and I brought my own mask to snorkel. The group enjoyed the private cabana on North Beach. Ocean Cay is featured on most MSC cruises departing from Port Canaveral and Miami.
I decided to get my steps off the ship today. We walked to the Queen’s Staircase and Fincastle Fort. The new pier area in Nassau is a welcome change.
Greetings from the MSC Seashore! I’m on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas with 9 other couples. The ship is stunning, especially at night. We enjoyed sailaway, dinner in the Tribeca dining room, evening show and nighttime fun. MSC includes a beverage package and WiFi.
I had the opportunity to tour 25 unique suites and cabins today. There are so many great options! The suite neighborhood, The Grove, provides guests with their own pool, sun deck, lounge and access to the Coastal Kitchen.
It’s my last day aboard the amazing Icon of the Seas. I got a great walk in on deck 5 and just took some time to relax at Chill Island, (another unique neighborhood).
Let me introduce you to the sophisticated neighborhoods aboard the Icon of the Seas. Central Park is a lovely place to stroll with gorgeous greenery, shopping and dining. The Aquadome boasts stunning views of the ocean and also has unique dining options. It’s also where the new aqua show will take place.
Perfect Day at Cococay is one of the most popular cruise line private islands. Royal Caribbean has outdone themselves with “Hideaway Beach”. It’s an adult only beach with an expansive heated swim up bar. It’s so cool to think how many people will get to enjoy this, even on a 3 night Bahamas cruise. If your ship stops here, I recommend you book this on the planner ASAP! I’ve seen it for $35 per person, but this can fluctuate.
Let’s talk about last night! We had pre dinner music in the pub, fantastic dinner, adult comedy show (I’m still giggling), promenade parade, midnight balloon drop and dueling pianos. The quality and variety of live music is impressive!
Adults get their own space on the Icon of the Seas, welcome to the Hideaway. What a great pool. Almost sail away time and my favorite place to be is aft.
The Icon of the Seas has 8 neighborhoods. Here are Surfside and Thrill Island. I can’t think of a better way for a family to travel.
My home for the next 3 nights, balcony cabin aboard the Icon of the Seas. There is ample storage and charging stations on the nightstands. Could you see yourself living here for a week?
First impressions…WOW! The Royal Promenade is bright and spacious. I’m excited to see the ship come to life tonight.
Feeling a little nostalgic today as I board the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas. I took my 1st Royal Caribbean cruise 29 years ago aboard the Song of America. It’s amazing to experience the growth of the cruise industry. It’s given me a 30 year career and I truly believe it’s the best vacation out there! Travel Leaders

Let's talk new ships! Last month, Celebrity launched the stunning Celebrity Ascent (the 4th Edge Class ship). Have I ever mentioned how much I love this class of ship? The Norwegian Viva joined sister ship Prima, this is a smaller class of NCL ship with an upscale feel. This week, the Carnival Jubilee joins the very popular Mardi Gras and Celebration. These ships feature amazing aft pools and exciting entertainment options. What an exciting year for the cruise industry! What ship would you choose?
