Así, desde el inicio de la lucha, demostraron ser la fuerza de los soldados mexicanos, junto a ellos lucharon, anhelaron y murieron por México.
A todas estas mujeres que se levantaron en armas y lucharon a la par que los hombres se les conoce como Adelitas, pero hubo una primera mujer que llevó este nombre, el cual se retomó para nombrar a todas las soldaderas.
Adela Velarde Pérez nació en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
