~*A Message to Our Community*~

Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in spring of 2020, LTD faced difficult decisions to ensure our ability to continue offering high-quality, equitable transportation services in a financially sustainable way. Over the past year, LTD has engaged in conversations with our local, regional, and state partners about how to deliver the range of transportation options programs that best meet the needs of our community.

Moving forward, LTD will continue to provide transportation options services for employers and employees in our area, such as the Emergency Ride Home program, Group Pass program, Valley Vanpool program, tabling at employer fairs, assistance with using the Get There platform for commuting, and more.

Management of regional transportation options programming, such as Safe Routes to School, bicycle and pedestrian safety outreach, and regional transportation challenges will shift to other agencies, and the Point2point brand retired. The Point2point brand has served these programs well, but we are looking forward to seeing them evolve and grow under new leadership.

New content will no longer be posted to this account. While we are sad to bid farewell to Point2point, we are excited to continue providing information about how walking, biking, and telework can help connect you with transit on Facebook at Lane Transit District and on Twitter . For information about general regional transportation options programs, follow Central Lane Metropolitan Planning Organization on Facebook at Central Lane Metropolitan Planning Organization

As we reflect on the accomplishments of our program, we’d love to hear from you about some of your favorite P2p memories in the comments below!

The team at Get There shared these four tips for talking about a hybrid work schedule with your boss. For more ideas about making your case, check out ODOT's Remote and Teleworking Toolkit at tinyurl.com/GetThereTelework.

Heading out to the coast this weekend?

If you're planning on driving, look out and slow down for people on bikes. Remember:

🚴 People biking can use the full lane - wait until it's safe to pass.
↔️ When passing someone on a bike, give at least 3 feet.
😎 Slow down and be patient.

Important updates for transit riders:

As of today, Governor Brown has lifted physical distancing requirements on public transit, allowing for full bus capacity. This decision comes in advance of the extreme temperatures expected this weekend. LTD will be providing free rides to anyone traveling to and from designated cooling centers.
*Masks are still required on the bus and at bus stations.*

Today, Governor Brown lifted physical distancing requirements for public transit, paving the way for LTD buses to immediately carry passengers at full capacity. Riders are still required to wear masks on the bus and at bus stations, as is required by federal order for public transit. This increase in capacity comes at an important time, with record heat expected to impact our area. LTD will provide free bus service this weekend for people traveling to and from a designated cooling center. Learn more: https://zcu.io/nSyj
