The Twin Cities are home to James Beard celebrated chef Ann Ahmed of G*i Noi, Khaluna, and Lat 14 (and if you haven't visited those restaurants, we advise you to get them on your list ASAP). But Ann's roots lie in Laos and we are so thrilled to announce we are planning a trip in January 2025 with Ann and our favorite food writer, Stephanie March, to visit Ann's homeland and the culinary traditions that inspire her daily. Jim Bendt and Linda Boden Bendt are on the beautiful journey from Vancouver to Banff via train with Rocky Mountaineer. Beautiful mountain and valley scenes and even a mama bear and cubs waving along the way! This is one of our favorite ways to see Canada and the destinations on either end of the train journey are wonderful places to add on a few days exploring.

The state department is beta testing online passport renewals for a limited number of applicants each day! If you are 25 or older, have a passport issued in the past 9-15 years that needs renewing and isn't lost or stolen, and aren't traveling in the next 8 weeks, you are eligible to try this new system. Test it out and send us your feedback!

The limited beta program is available for eligible citizens with specific criteria.

Originally a lumber warehouse built in the 1940s, we renovated this historic space to highlight the vaulted wooden barrel ceiling while adding a bar and stone fireplace to bring the warmth and comfort of a luxury lodge.
