Thank you Virtual Railfan for being such a champion for Fort Madison! I had no idea what your camera would do for our community and we can't thank you enough!

▪️ Your viewers began visiting 1 week after going live on June 26, 2020 during covid shut down. They stayed safely at the Kingsley Inn and enjoyed watching trains from their rooms and along the riverfront.
▪️ They watched the Avenue H road construction from beginning to end and then even grew to accept the dreaded pole in front of the Kingsley Inn. ;)
▪️ They watched the Fort Madison Marina project from the very beginning to completion and opening of Turnwater Bar & Grill in April.

Thank you for witnessing Fort Madison's progression and development. We look forward to more online viewers and meeting them in person at the Historic Santa Fe Depot when they visit to enjoy railfanning.

BJ (Boxcar Junior) and his family are visiting Fort Madison all the way from Virginia to railfan! This is their 6th year to visit so they were excited to check out the Fort Madison Marina and Turnwater Bar & Grill . They helped us greet Amtrak this morning and will be out exploring all day. To ensure everyone enjoys an stress-free stay, the Fort Madison Tourism Office is dedicated to providing ample assistance to tourists and locals alike.

We are proud to introduce a QR Tourism Cling that will be placed throughout the community for visitors to scan while on a stroll, planning their day at a hotel, or dining at our restaurants. Scanning the QR code directs visitors to a dedicated landing page on the Fort Madison Tourism website, offering guidance on lodging, dining, shopping, the event calendar, and more.

DID YOU KNOW that the Burlington Basket Company was founded in 1888 in Burlington, Iowa? Iowa is known as the Hawkeye state, hence the brand name! They were a large supplier to Walmart, Kmart and Target in the 1980s & 90s! The company ended in 2011 but many well made baskets are still around! I am lucky enough to own two Hawkeye Burlington Picnic Baskets!

Calling all of our Queen contestants, this Friday we will be hosting our 2024 Queen Competition at 6:30pm sharp. This will be held first before the Youth show begins and please remember you must be a member to compete...we will also have handy membership forms onsite as well before the event.

Our Queen is responsible for carrying her smile, the American flag before our horse shows and getting to ride in the Tri-State rodeo parade in front with all of the Queens! We cannot wait to see who we get to crown in 2024 👑✨
