Linville Gorge, March 2014
Found this in the archives. My buddy Mike and me on a backpacking trip in the Linville Gorge Wilderness, North Carolina, in March 2014. As you can hear in the video, the winds that night were extraordinary. We camped right up on narrow ridge, which accentuated the wind as it rushed out of the gorge and over the ridge. A nearby weather station recorded wind gusts of 48 mph that night. I assure you; the gusts over our tent were much, much higher. A wild night to remember indeed!

A recent two-day backpacking trip in the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area
Finish line! I hiked 65 miles in 31 hours, 39 minutes. I'm sore, exhausted, and proud to have done it again (and to be finished). Third year in a row.
Thanks Benjamin Strong for accompanying me for the northern half. Glad you came along.
