Bears are out and active in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Be Bear Aware - Keep all food within an arms reach and never leave food or scented items unattended. When available, use bear lockers to store all food and scented items (lip balm, lotion, soaps, toothpaste, hand wipes, hand sanitizer, anything with a scent).

Never place scented items in a tent!

Protect bears by locking vehicle doors at all times. Bears have excellent senses of smell and they will open vehicle doors to look for food.

Let us introduce you to Boss Hogg, a.k.a. Bossy! He's a veteran in our program and our go-to pony for kids meeting a horse for the first time. While we don't know for sure, we speculate that Bossy is a cross between a Welsh Pony and a Pony of the Americas. He has a big personality and enjoys taking it easy in the winter and hitting the trails with the kiddos in the summer!

It's Monday, so time to meet another member of the herd! This is Gucci, a Percheron & Quarter Horse cross standing at 17.1 hands & weighing in at 1,800 lbs. He's one of our primary pulling horses as well as a riding horse for experienced riders. He's also at the top of the pecking order & has nestled into the herd (& our hearts) with his half-sister, Prada, over the years.
