It is ,with mixed feelings that I now report my relationship with Camp Tomahawk is coming to a close.
I know that Camp Tomahawk will become the success that circumstances would not allow me to achieve.
I'm excited for you and the new owners!
At someday in the future we will all look back and remember when Me and my daughter Donna started our little 2 mile float. The support of my wife ,mother, father and family have delivered me to success.
The Grand adventure that is life has led me and Georgia to greener pastures.
We are moving to Cape Fair.
We have moved from our RV at camp Tomahawk to a fantastic house on Table Rock lake!
With your help our dreams have been realized!
I could not imagine a better spot to live out the life I have and what a life it will be!!!!
You'll still be able to find me at work doing Hovercraft tours on the lake and on the confluent tributaries.
My new business will probably be named Table Rock Fishing and LCAC tours. Due to the constraints placed on me , please send a friend request to Lester M Davis to keep in touch.
Life is sweet and l could not have done this without you.

Our Hovercraft trip up the James river is in the books . I was joined by Lynn and Alfredo. We started just about HL Kerr and ended Just past the Nelson Mill bridge about .25 miles down river from the 160 bridge. The round trip was 82 miles and we spent 5 hours. We shot several ledge rock water falls. We observed 3 pairs of nesting eagles, several deer crossing the river, countless herons and other fishing birds .
Georgia and Donna brought our meal to the Delaware access where we took a break.
I loved the trip a gained a deeper knowledge of the James River.
There are many deep holes of water. I just assumed the areas would be real shallow.
Of course the gravel which fills the holes has been taken out of the watershed by human development that sequesters gravel from moving down stream. An example would be Horse Creek. When I was young fish would move up the creek to spawn . This was a low water crossing. Because flooding would inconvenience folks for 3 or 4 days a levee was built now we are not flooded in for more than 2 days. Gravel no longer moves naturally and stockpiles preventing the natural movement of fish in the creeks.
This matter has always been dear to my heart. When I look at the James river flowing past my place on the river I'm reminded of it's timeless patience.
The rivers are the sustainer of all life and will survive eternal.
After 50 years I realize I still have so much to learn about James river.
It's is our treasure,our glittering jewel. I will have many photos to share before too long .

September 14th and 15th will be great weather for the tube float. We will be open that weekend as our last hurrah. As long as we have nice weather, we will be open weekends. Thanks and please share🤠 If you plan on coming out please call ahead.

Thank You! 🤠You have made our time at Camp Tomahawk very rewarding. Now it's time for Georgia and I to simplify our lives. I'm going to transition to hovercraft touring and James river guide services.🤠 Camp Tomahawk is in the process of being sold🤯 but is not yet listed..
This will be a great business opportunity for some individuals. Whether it remains Camp Tomahawk or becomes private, your patronage has been a source of comfort for us.
When the listing becomes official, I'll share it to this page.
