OPENING TONIGHT!

Island ETC is going to kick off the baseball season early with a musical classic, DAMN YANKEES! Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (words and music) and George Abbott and Douglass Wallop (book) take on a baseball season of the Washington Senators. And just like most everyone else (unless, of course, you are a NY Yankees fan) they want to beat those ‘Damn Yankees!

Based on the story of ‘Faust,’ all Joe Boyd wants is for the Senators to win a pennant when suddenly Mr. Applegate appears with a proposal. Joe becomes a Washington Senator in exchange for his soul. Joe luckily requests an escape clause. And then the hilarity really gets going. Does Joe lead the Senators to a pennant? Does Applegate put up enough barriers to keep Joe from using the escape clause?

Performances for DAMN YANKEES are March 15 through April 13. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 with two Sunday matinees (March 17 and March 24) at 2:30. Tickets are $30.00 for students and seniors and $35.00 for adults. Tickets are available online at www.islandetc.org. We do offer group rates for groups of ten or more. ETC asks you with all our ‘Heart’ to be in the audience for this appropriate for all ages musical. If you are feeling like a “Lost Soul” and need a lift, DAMN YANKEES will “Mambo” you to a really good time! And one thing we have learned in our rehearsals that we do what “Lola Wants.’ And Lola wants you to come and see DAMN YANKEES!
