If anyone is looking to escape the cold and snow we still have a sweet two bedroom, fully equipped unit for $110 per night and smaller condo for only $60 with two large beds and full kitchen available at Casa Las Palmas in Punta Mita, Mexico from Dec. 7-15. Units are very nice, only a block from the beach and there's even a nice swimming pool. The rest of the month is sold out to other Alaskans already. Only 45 min from Puerto Vallarta, great spot for paddling, surfing or checking out neighboring towns such as Salyulita or San Pancho. No rental car needed, take taxi or Uber from airport and good bus service to access places out of town. Message for more details or booking info!

My face still hurts from laughing so hard at the 4th Annual SUPOlympics last weekend, the new jousting event proved to be a crowd favorite! Huge thanks to the brave competitors and our awesome hosts, the Dirty Skillet. Also Halagear SUP Co., Double Musky, Basecamp, Alpenglow, Girdwood Brewing and Coast Pizza for all the wonderful prizes!

Mexico anyone? As many of you may know I have been travelling to Punta Mita, Mexico during the winters and have made enough friends and connections to offer some incredible lodging rates and activities! This is hands down the best place in the country to paddleboard as its protected bay has generally smooth water daily along with five different surf breaks to paddle to nearby. There are a few beginner friendly waves to learn SUP surfing, I'm well connected with board rental options and I can also teach paddlesurf lessons for those who want to learn. There's a fishing boat available super affordably and even an Alaskan friend with a sailboat who can do daily trips as well. No shortage of fun to be had in this cool little Mexican town!
I have two, 2 bedroom units and another single place with two large beds and fold out couches in a sweet place with a pool and only a block and a half from the beach. Available from Nov.15-Dec 15 for any dates you choose. Room rates are only $110 per night for the entire two bedroom units plus $25 per night for each additional person after four. The smaller condo is only $60 per night for two people and $20 each additional person but holds two couples easily, and has room for for singles. We will be staying at Casa Las Palmas and you can check out a You Tube video of the property and rooms at Casa Las Palmas Punta Mita.
Its just an hour north of Puerto Vallarta and only 30 min from Salyulita, the bus service is awesome and no real need for a rental car as everything is walking distance around town with many great restaurants and food carts to choose from. Uber is also available for side trips if needed. Please message me for booking or questions, this will be on a first come first serve adventure so gather your friends and book some warm weather days where the sun is always shining for the first Swift Adventure in Mexico!

This years Dusty Green Memorial Floatfest was bigger than ever! Huge thanks to Selita, the Kramers, Aubrey and our local restaurants Double Musky, Hightower Pub, Chair Five and Basecamp for food donations, Forest Fair for the leftover kegs, and Girdwood Brewing for the taps! Special thanks to everyone else who showed up and helped make this day a memorable tribute, it was full send to the very end, just as Dusty would like it. May the cosmic party live on!

Rain or shine, Dusty would go! The winds will be diminished by early tomorrow but we do expect a lil bit of rain. Meeting at Portage Lake at noon, there will be a few rafts for those folks who dont want to float their own craft and drysuits for rent as well. There will be a few EZ ups, food and a warm fire at the BBQ (black sand beach near mile 2.2 on Portage road). Drop food off w Selita at the beach or bring to the lake and we will shuttle it down. Let's show Dusty we can all rally as hard as he could!

Join us for the Annual Dusty Memorial Floatfest on Portage Creek this Sunday, July 14! We will meet at Portage Lake at noon, if it floats it'll work! There will be a BBQ and food at the black sand beach near the mile two takeout. Please bring any food to donate up to the lake and it will be transported to the lunch site. This is not a Swift Adventures sanctioned event and we will not be doing any guiding that day, we will offer rentals if anyone needs gear however.

Due to the glacial dam flooding this weekend we had to cancel but have rescheduled the final trip of the year for next Sunday to SUP the Kenai from just below Kenai Lake to the Russian River Ferry. We will meet at noon and have a lunch stop along the way at Gwins Roadhouse. This is a level 2 trip and is a great choice for folks who have been down Portage Creek with us in the past or who have prior SUP experience. Attention Portage Creek paddlers! The DOT construction crew has made a temporary public access point at the takeout while they finish up bridge construction this summer. To access the takeout turn into the Wildlife Center and take an immediate right and proceed to where the old takeout was. There will be signs posted saying Portage #2 Public Access and indicator markers as to where to go. Please watch out for construction vehicles as its pretty busy at the moment. The river is super high at the moment and mamy of the biggest dangers were removed early this spring making it a much safer float for everyone. Be safe and dont attempt using a chainsaw from a paddleboard, its entirely unsafe and slightly silly. See you on the river!

Happy Birthday Dusty! Here's a video showing all the fun we had celebrating your life on the river last year buddy. This years' memorial float for Dustys friends and family will be held on Friday, July 14 starting at noon at the Portage Visitors Center, all floating crafts welcome, BBQ halfway down the river at the black sand beach (mile 2.3 of Portage Glacier Road).
