I have created this great little group to help people find vacation rentals without going through VRBO and AIRBNB

Now there will be new V-R-B-O marketing soon telling you they are not longer charging the customer.... so when you hear this... I want you to remember who told you..

THEY ARE TAKING THE CUSTOMER FACING FEES AND JUST CHARGING THE OWNERS A MINIMUM OF 15 %

What does that mean to you the Renter? You will start to see base rates climb as owners try to absorb these fees.

What you may or may not know is that years ago before Expedia bought VRBO, VRBOs motto was they would never charge the customer....Many of us railed against them charging the customer but I am sure what they saw was that AIRBNB had always charged the customer so they would try it...

However, what was really difficult for the owner is we never knew what they were charging our own guests.... If you did an inquiry for 4 guest and 6 guests for the same rental the rates were different and from the owners side we couldnt see the rates, so how could we control our business?

As much as I don't like the fees, knowing the bottom line of what I am charging my guests is highly important so I can tailor my fees based on unbooked days, events, or trying to compare apples to apples when review local rates to be sure I am staying competitive.

One way to get away from all those extra fees is to book your stay direct.... like we use to do it SO LONG AGO... before booking platforms.

Consider using NON user FEE based platforms like HOUFY (HOU -house F for Y you)

mine is www.houfy.com/4564 no fees to owners or renters ... eventually there will only be sponsored posts fees to owners but no fee to list on their site which is ALL WE NEED!!
