Wow!! The Tetris House kitchen is really coming together now. Countertops came today, appliances are next. We’re waiting on shower glass and handrails, lights and faucets, final painting and then YOU!

May is a top month for Parkway crawling. Depending on your elevation, you will see our amazing native azaleas in bloom, anywhere from dark orange to pale yellow. Drifts of sherbet lining the edges of the woods.

Now you know.
Timing is everything.

One of our favorite signs of spring at Grandfather Mountain, pink-shell azalea, is just starting to show off its delicate pink blooms. The flower is most easily seen around Half Moon Overlook at this time and will become more widespread across the park and reach higher elevations over the next few weeks. Because of its limited range and small population, the plant is considered globally "vulnerable."

This morning I went up to Lost Cove Cliffs on the Blue Ridge Parkway for sunrise. It was a nice sunrise but what followed was the real show as the sun backlit those beautiful blue ridge mountains. Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite spots along the parkway where you can see forever........

It’s full season here in the . We are bursting with and everyone gets a bouquet. One of the biggest and best events in our town is GardenJubilee at the end of May.

May is also the freshest month in the NCmountains. (I know where the are blooming!)
