🚨 Important Storm Preparation Information! 🚨

The city of Anna Maria's self-service sandbag station at the north end of Bayfront Park will remain open until Sunday, Aug. 3. Free bags are provided and there is a 20-bag limit. Officials recommend bringing a second person to assist with the sandbag filling to make it a little easier. If a mandatory evacuation is ordered, deputies posted at the city entrance will need to see a post-storm re-entry tag upon return. If you have a re-entry tag from a previous year, it is still valid as they do not expire in Anna Maria. If you don't have a re-entry tag, the form can be downloaded on the city website. Completed forms need to be brought to city hall along with proof of residency or business ownership, including a driver's license or utility bill.

A tropical storm watch is in effect for Anna Maria Island and Bradenton. A tropical storm watch means that tropical-storm-force winds are possible within the area in the next 48 hours. Impacts from a potential tropical storm system in the Gulf, including heavy rain, high winds and potential flooding, are expected to arrive in our area early Sunday morning.
