My recipes are not really “secret” they evolve from an idea. Have fun!

The end result isn't very photogenic...But I love this comfort food every now and again. Tuna noodle made with mixed veggies instead of peas, mushroom soup and the velvetta makes it so good!

Sausage soup! Keto version don't add the noodles (whatever type you prefer). Fry Premio sweet italian sausage and cut into bite size pieces. Diced tomatoes (canned or fresh), carrots, celery, onions, black beans, light red kidney beans, Beef broth. Spice with basil, garlic, bay leaf, salt, pepper to taste. Cook it in the crockpot until the veggies are tender.

Homemade sweet and sassy peppers! 4 or 5 peppers sliced (green and or red) and some sliced hot bannana peppers to taste. 1/2 cup of cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, a sq**rt or teaspoon to taste of corse ground mustard, 1/4 cup of salad oil of your choice and a teaspoon of salt bring to a boil stirring constantly (it doesn't take long). Pour over after you have added additional sugar on the peppers in the bowl (sprinkle it on evenly to taste). DO NOT STIR. Ready in three days but the longer in the refrigerator the better. Lasts for 3 months refrigerated. Another secret is do not put your fingers in the bowl! It will cause the "refrigerator veggies" to get bacteria in them. USE A FORK OR SPOON.

Spicy ranch, garlic and parmesan chicken thighs! I started them on the BBQ grill with salt and pepper. Then I added my secret sauce. Ranch, Franks hot, parmesan, and wet garlic. Cooked them further on both sides then put them in the crockpot with a little extra sauce on top. Delish. The sauce is to taste but I used 1/2 of a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch to start. Wings are outrageously expensive these days. Chicken thighs do the trick and you get more meat on your plate!

Philly Pot Roast Sandwich with Horseradish Sauce! Cook your pot roast (chuck or shoulder) in the crockpot on low for 8 hours, trim and pull apart like pork. Saute onions and peppers in oil and remove from the pan.
Heat your roast beef in some of the broth in the same pan. Sprinkle with Lawry's Season Salt. Add sliced or shredded provolone. Reheat your peppers and onions in the mircrowave (for appearance) or just add them back into the meat and cheese. Spread your favorite mayo on a Pacifico Hoagie Roll. Top with your favorite creamy horseradish sauce. DELISH!

Did you know? When it's to cold to stand outside and cook your brats on the grill they are very good in the frying pan. AND pierce them with a knife and add some beer at the end! And did you know Honey Dijon Mustard is sooo good instead of yellow mustard? And last but not least is serve them on a potato roll so you get more meat in your mouth and not sausage roll!

HOT ROAST BEEF AND GRAVY SANDWICH ON A COLD WINTER NIGHT. Leftover roast beef (chuck roast made in the crockpot) with homemade gravy over bread. You make your chuck roast in the crockpot until falling apart tender (add a can of beef broth, salt, pepper and thicken with a luke warm water/flour shaken in a container or stired in a bowl). The gravy takes some practice. Remove your meat and boil the broth on high then reduce the heat and slowly add the flour mixture (can substitute with cold water and cornstarch) and stir constantly. PRACTICE PRACTICE on the gravy.

What’s behind Lori D’s Secret Recipes?

I learned to plant a garden and cook at an early age. Many recipes came from my childhood when I learned how to make good old fashion country cooking dishes. Later in life I had the luxury to do a lot of traveling and indulge at many fine dinning establishments.

If I learned to make something when I was a child, I learned to turn it into my own version as an adult. If I enjoyed something that I saw a recipe for in Gourmet Magazine or that I ordered at a 5 star restaurant, I learned how to adapt that delicious, decadent and beautifully displayed meal into something that I could prepare at home. I have also learned to pair my photography experience with my cooking skills in order to give my followers a visual of the ingredients that go into the recipes that I have developed.

My recipes are not really “secret”. They are not explicitly spelled out on my page because I really do not use a specific recipe. That’s the secret!
