The 40th Heritage Days Celebration is coming up November 7-9, 2024 in St. Helena Island, SC. If you have never been to this festival, this is your year to come check it out. Live music, performances, the annual parade, vendors, artist, and most of all come and learn and embrace the history of the Gullah Geechee culture.

Another great opportunity for her to network and mingle with artist and curators from across the U.S. Early morning flights are the hardest sometimes but the best part is arriving at your destination early and utilizing most of your day at your visiting destination.

Took a few pics before leaving out of Springfield. I was in the city of the National Bikers Roundup Inc . Flight was delayed leaving out so I left one day later. Springfield is the home of President Abraham Lincoln. Pics from the Roundup are posted on my club page Trinity MSC. Enjoyed my time here. The delays I had to go through to get back home, that's another story. Springfield IL

Traveling soon? Here are some tips to make traveling easier:

Download the app. Whether it is a hotel, flight, or cruise, download the app so you can keep up with all the activities that are going on during your trip. The best thing about it-you can delete the app after your trip is over with, and upload it from your play store when you need to use it again.

Keep track of your confirmations. Travel agents have to (or should) keep a record of confirmations for record purposes, plus this is how they get paid commission. However a customer should always have a copy of their confirmation and what they booked. Each travel agent have their preference. I am always going to send the confirmation that comes from the hotel or the cruise. That's who you paid. I posted payment on their behalf. That's who send the confirmation email.

Sign up for frequent travel rewards/rewards cards. This is how you earn points for free nights and discounts. These programs are free to sign up for. And always make sure you give your travel agent your rewards number so you can get the points.

For car rentals: if your company participates in a discount rental program, make sure to give your agent your promo code. They can add it in your booking and you can still take advantage of the savings.

The airport is becoming increasingly busy as we near the start of summer travel. We would like to remind travelers to arrive a minimum of 2 hours before their scheduled departure time, especially when traveling during peak periods (Friday-Sunday, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM).

Be sure to allow extra time if you plan to park, require special assistance, or need to check luggage.

got off my other part time gig today and went to Black Expo 2024 to sit in for artist Artistic Vision at the expo art gallery while she was away at another engagement. Lots of people came out to network, check out vendors, celebrity guest, and art work from the featured artist. While the expo was inside the Cantey and Goodman Buildings, the Food Truck expo was outside with over 30 trucks on site. I didn't get to venture away from the table because of all the guest coming through but I can tell you these people were having a good time, and a good time was had!

Spring/summer just getting started and there is much to do and see in Columbia. Plan a trip or if you are local plan a staycation and check out what the Soda City has to offer while still taking time to relax.
