Story Time! We love telling people about the incredible history that the Florida Keys hold, so that’s why today, we go down memory lane with the story of Indian Key shared by on her IG:

An entire village used to be on this key, consisting of a hotel, store, homes, & village square back in the 1830s.

In 1840, Chief Chekika & his tribe paddled to the key in the middle of the night & set the key ablaze. The entire town went up in flames & 13 people were killed of the 50 living there. It has been a ghost town ever since & is only accessible by kayak or paddleboard! Walking around the key is almost eerie & you can see the remnants & graves of a town that used to be ☠️

Islamorada is known for world-class fishing, snorkeling, and dining, but one of the greatest parts about being on this archipelago off the southern coast of Florida is the breathtaking sunsets. The gentle curve of the islands means you can basically catch a picturesque sunset from any island. Sunsets are so gorgeous in Islamorada that it feels like a special occasion every day.

Saltwater Fly Fishing is all about the hunt!

You’re on the water at first light, hunting for tarpon blasting through schools of baitfish, or moving in small pods, rolling their silver backs through the water’s surface. The excitement builds when you spot one of these beauties gliding through the ocean. You’re up on the deck, line stripped off your reel, and the tarpon are showering baitfish into the air.
