When a client is just dying to see 399 as well as get a good shot of her, the pressure is on! But having a guide who is familiar with the animals and their habits raises the odds and I was relieved that the Queen cooperated! #399 #

“Wait for me, Mama!” One of Bear 1063’s cubs scampers behind to keep close to her. This is her first litter and so far so good. Grizzly bears in the greater Yellowstone Ecosystem have a 50% mortality rate in their first of of life, so she will need all the luck and skill to keep these cubs

The owl was discovered by the side of the road injured, mostly likely from a passing vehicle.

“Panning” with a camera is tricky and requires lots of practise. Basically you are shooting something fast-moving on a slow shutter speed, but you are “panning” with the subject as it moves. The goal is to get the subject tack sharp with the background blurred and appearing to be in motion. This image of a cowboy at a full gallop on the just worked. It’s one of my favs from the week there together with

To all those who treasure seeing grizzly bears in the wild when they visit the parks, please read this and take action. These places would not be the same without our beloved grizzlies. And if the bears are stripped of protection we KNOW (based upon the track record in WY, MT and ID with wolves), that we could expect a slaughter in short order.

SHARABLE LINK FOR URGENT APPEAL 💝

On behalf of Queen 399 and the survival of her cub of the year, Princess 610, Felicia, Blondie, Bonita, Bruno, Raspberry, Snow..ALL GRIZZLIES..we are asking your participation in all four of the opportunities below to keep the Grizzlies on the Endangered Species List and out of the irreverent management of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho for trophy hunting. You do have a voice in their future! 💝

⭐ We are asking for you to please take time to read this post, the article in the link, understand how the lives of Queen 👑 399 👑, her new cub and ALL Grizzlies are threatened AND take the actions we provide in comments.

https://missoulian.com/opinion/columnists/andrea-zaccardi-grizzly-399-shows-what-s-at-stake-if-grizzlies-lose-protections/article_33cda04a-fc0f-11ed-a99b-230c443e6e28.html

⭐ URGENT APPEAL to our followers and all who are in the fight to save the Grizzlies from TROPHY HUNTING..⬇️

⭐ FACT: Queen 👑 399 👑 faces the REAL potential of being someone's TROPHY and her new little Royal cub orphaned, as do all our beloved Grizzlies who live in Glacier NP, (National Park), outside Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP and those who leave the protection of Yellowstone and GTNP.

⭐ Wyoming is now suing the Department of Interior (DOI) for not making a faster decision to remove the Grizzly from the Endangered Species List. We want to know what's the reason for the rush??!!

⭐ The reason can be none other than alterior motives to serve special interest groups like ranchers, outfitters for hunting, trophy hunters and what's referred to as 'land grabbers' for development that will destroy grizzly habitat. In other words $$$$.

⭐ Montana, Wyoming and Idaho want to corral the Grizzly vs allowing for connectivity, claim they've outgrown their suitable habitat and push to remove Federal Protection for the Grizzly guised as conservation!!

⭐ Four avenues to STOP! this action in comments. You do have a voice! 🙏

⭐ 1. How motivated are we to protect Queen 399, her new Royal cub from being orphaned and all the magnificent Grizzlies..? To keep them on the Endangered Species List and out of the Hell-ish trophy hunting management hands of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho..!!?

A month ago H R. Bills 764, 1245 and 1419 all passed the House Natural Resource Committee ..so the COMPLETE delisting of Grizzlies WITHOUT judicial review is now only three steps away from law! Please call your House Representatives to vote 'NO' on these bills.

⭐ 2. Please sign and share these three petitions ⬇️

⭐ 3. Write AND call Wyoming Governor Gordon to keep the Grizzly on the Endangered Species List. How would you feel visiting the Parks knowing he wants the grizzly to be hunted and killed..potentially our beloved 399, 610, Felicia, Bruno, Fritter, Blondie and more..!? Would you want to continue visting the Parks and supporting their economy? Remember, they are already slaughtering OUR wolves.. One fifth of Yellowstone Wolves have already been killed.

Please write AND call Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon about protecting grizzly bears, keeping them in the Endangered Species List and how fortunate Wyoming is to be the home of these vital animals.

⭐ 4. Write AND call DOI Secretary, Deb Haaland opposing the removal of the Grizzly from the Endangered Species List. You can use the points in article link to support your opposition.

https://missoulian.com/opinion/columnists/andrea-zaccardi-grizzly-399-shows-what-s-at-stake-if-grizzlies-lose-protections/article_33cda04a-fc0f-11ed-a99b-230c443e6e28.html

Also you may use this summary ⬇️

We oppose your removal of Endangered Species Act protection for grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. This will lead to trophy hunting of grizzlies in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming for the first time in 40 years, just outside the park. Grizzlies are iconic wildlife of the American West, and are critical to ecosystem health. They have not fully recovered in the U.S., and removing protections for a sub-population of an endangered species illegally harms the whole species.

What a difference a day makes. The first image was taken yesterday, and the second one was today. As you see, Hoback, as the king of the Teton moose is affectionately known, has begun to strip the velvet off his antlers in anticipation of the rut. After all, to get the ladies every moose needs a nice shiny rack ! He was still hanging out this morning with a younger bull moose. But once the testosterone ramps up, that camaraderie will give way to a fight for the right to breed. And as the biggest moose in the valley, my money is on Hoback. #

Throwback to 2021 and an amazing encounter with Bonita - daughter of Blondie. Some refer to this bear as “Fritter” and I believe she was seen briefly this spring. I haven’t seen her yet but am hoping to any day now. Would you like to see her? Join me for a private photo tour of GTNP. Link in bio.

Right now, the valley is all about MOOSE on the loose. Yesterday I counted about 15 of them scattered around the flats. The males are just begining to sprout new antlers and are still hanging out in groups. Soon they will each go their own way, and will be much harder to spot. Contact me now to reserve a tour right away.
