Last night I woke up to one of the loudest rolling bangs ever. It sounded like a subway train rolled through the house. Jumped out of bed. The car alarm started going. Bright flashes outside. House shaking. A cup fell off a shelf. The glassware in the vitrine improvised a song. I could hear coyote chirping and dogs barking from far away. Was it an alien invasion/ earthquake/ end of the world? A re-enactment of “close encounter…?”
Peering outside preparing to venture into the great unknown and turn car alarm off, the rain started bucketing down. Hard! It was a thunderstorm. 5 minutes it lasted here, heading towards 29 palms, setting off car alarms, shaking the desert dust off people’s houses, startling animals and waking people up from their sleep on it’s way.
