Our quant little cottage, Heights Hideaway, nestled on the edge of Lake Orion welcomed its first guests in April of this year. In our short time of operation at this property, we have welcomed many great guests visiting Lake Orion for a variety of reasons. Here's what a few of them thought of their stay with us

Bonnie's Heights Hideaway was exactly what we had hoped for. No false advertising like you can see from time to time in some listings. Awesome lake cottage feel with a super cool little backyard space that had great campfire pit and hammock! Bedrooms offered plenty of room. Kitchen fit our all our needs. Just a couple houses down the hill is the well known Rick's On the Lake party store - great pizza and whatever party items you may need! Bonnie was an excellent host and great to work with. Lock this place up if traveling to LO!

My family, including my husband and four teenage kids, stayed for two nights while in the area to visit family. The home provided everything we needed, including comfortable beds and space for all of us to relax. There were a lot of little touches that we did not expect, but appreciated finding throughout the home. We enjoyed using the fire pit and walking along the peninsula (located just feet away from the home). There is so much to do in this area (great restaurants, lake access on Lake Orion, Bald Mountain State Park just minutes away....and so much more). We will absolutely stay here again!

Upon arrival, Bonnie was very nice. When you first pull up you are greeted with a cute, quant little cottage near the lake. When walking in this beautiful home, you first notice her impeccable style, the kitchen is large, spacious, and airy, next you will see the beautiful dining room. And the living room is something out of a romance novel. When you get to the two bedrooms you can see a clear difference in decor, both uniquely beautiful. The tender touches and soft details make this Airbnb truly some thing from dreams. Bonnie’s choice in linens and mattresses are amazing. Buttery soft sheets and a mattress you melt into. The bathroom is very nice and decently sized. The backyard, all though small, is perfect for a small bonfire to set your evening off with peace and tranquility!

When I was young, my paternal grandmother owned and ran Burkemo’s (motel back then). Great childhood memories of helping my grandma with guests and the property. Spending time on the St. Clair river and playing with all the kids that would come and go. There was shuffle board and bonfires. And I remember feeling so happy when I was there. I guess you could say it’s in my blood. I’m grateful to my grandma Marion for giving me such beautiful memories🎣🌊🏡

Yesterday was one of my favorite parts of the process. Picking bath tile. Obsessed with tile!!! Can’t wait to share final pics.

ALSO, STAY TUNED FOR OUR NEXT HOUSE ON THE LIST. When you love what you do, you keep doing it. And keep doing it better. I’ve had MANY lessons over the past few years and not one of them included quitting!
