The James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval is scheduled to open for the season this Friday 🎉 and will be open Thursday - Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday).

There will also be indoor skating and stick n' puck hours this holiday week.

The North American Cup kicked off today with Bobsled competitions, in 2-Man and Monobob. Team USA, Frank Del Duca and Joshua Williamson secured the top spot as we get ready for more Bobsled action tomorrow.

As the season change, we are reminded of the wonders that nature holds just beyond our front doors. It's a time when the forest comes alive with chirping birds, rustling leaves, and buzzing insects, and the air is filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers. 🌸🍃

It is officially Summer in the Adirondacks, and that means it is hiking season!! As always when out on the trail, help prevent erosion but walking through the mud, make sure you pack out what you pack in, and stick to durable surfaces when in the alpine zones!

Today is the day! The Whiteface Veterans' Memorial Highway is open, daily, for the season. Come up for the spectacular views, have some lunch at New York's highest food truck, the 4610' Grill, and don't forget to visit the Castle Gift shop, while you are here.

The most challenging course in the Adirondacks is the 11 miles over an 8 percent grade up Whiteface Mountain's scenic Veteran's Memorial Highway, New York's fifth highest peak.
