Ruben James Hernandez is the newest Account Executive on the KAPP/KVEW Sales staff. Over twenty years experience in Sales and Customer Service, Ruben excels by putting the customer first, and taking pride in a job well done. Born and raised in the Yakima Valley, Ruben graduated from Sunnyside High School then served four years as an Airborne Dental Specialist in the US Army with Ft. Bragg NC, and

Darmstadt, Germany, as his two main duty stations. It was in Germany that Ruben discovered his love of acting/performing while starring in a German-American production as The King in The King and I. He knew he wanted to act, so after his service Ruben arrived in Seattle, he joined the Piccoli Children's Theater under the direction of legendary Seattle acting Coach Earl Kelly. During this time Ruben also attended National Broadcasting School for TV and Radio. Six years in Seattle led to the pursuit of opportunities in Los Angeles where his love of acting led to a discovery of other talents, particularly in Sales and Marketing. For the past twenty years Ruben has been living in Los Angeles holding positions as a sales manager, account executive, and service and hospitality manager, among others. He has worked in the film and television industry as an actor, voice over artist, emcee, and production assistant. In 2005 Ruben was selected as a contestant on NBC Biggest Loser and lost 81 lbs. That experience led him to the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) earning certifications as a personal trainer and weight loss specialist. In the ten years since, Ruben has been a personal trainer, training manager, and motivational speaker, as well as owning and operating his own personal training business. Feeling the pull of the Yakima Valley and the World Champion Seahawks, Ruben moved to Yakima in early 2014 and has most recently served as Store manager at the GNC on 40th in Yakima. On his new position as Account Executive for KAPP/KVEW, Ruben is dedicated to being a positive force in Yakima and the surrounding communities as a top sales professional, a volunteer and community. In his spare time Ruben enjoys playing sports, is a huge Seahawk and Mariner fan and also enjoys, film, music, television, hiking and billiards. He is newly engaged, and enjoys co-parenting his fiancés six year old daughter. Ruben Looks forward to partnering with local businesses and corporations to increase revenue, and brand recognition through the power and reach of television.
