nal development and personal networking in the Central Florida area, ranging from greater Sarasota on the west coast, thru Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando, to Melbourne, Cocoa and Daytona Beach on the east coast. We meet monthly from September thru May each year to discuss important industry topics and tour supply chain operations for the purpose of education and knowledge transfer. Events are typically in either Orlando, Lakeland or Tampa. We follow the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) guidelines for operating our Roundtable. Membership is not required to attend roundtable events, but it is encouraged given the tremendous benefits for members, both student and professional. COSCO Shipping will be adding Port Tampa Bay to their GME (Gulf of Mexico Express) service – which is a direct service from China to Tampa and back to China. Besides China, COSCO has an extensive service network that will enable BCO’s to access other markets throughout the world utilizing this new service.

The first vessel is scheduled to sail from China on 12/28 and arrive Tampa 1/28. Transit time from China = 31 days and transit time to China = 27 days. Wow!!

Historically, Port Tampa Bay has been known for cargo - like phosphate and petroleum - but soon much more of the cargo coming through the port will be headed for your home.

We had the first YP Transition Series at USF last Friday (10/19) , the event went well. Majid (USF CSCMP YP Chair), Oyin (USF CSCMP Career Success Committee Leader) and Alicia Wang presented and we also had some interactive activities throughout the event. Join us Nov 15th! Master Sergeant Scott Neil, retired Special Forces Operator joins us to share his insights on leadership in logistics. Sergeant Neil has been an advisor to several General Officers, Policy Makers, and Members of Congress. He was among the first on the ground in Afghanistan after 9/11 and has served in Iraq and the Horn of Africa. Now, Sergeant Neil advocates on behalf of veterans ensuring successful re-integration into civilian life and in his spare time operates a distillery. Prepare to be inspired. Please park at the Port Headquarters lot located at the corner of Kennedy and Channelside Drive. Heavy hour hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks will be served.
