Our goal when visiting Australia was to see Melbourne, where we could find Leafy Sea Dragons and the Great Ocean Road. On our first day in Melbourne, I headed down to Portsea and Rye to go diving with the Scuba Doctor. I was on the hunt for Leafy Sea Dragons, Sharks, and Octopus. I found all three and much more.

On day two we went on a tour along the Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles at Campbell National Park and make a few furry friends along the way.

Eden, Australia and Two Fold Bay - previous one of the largest whaling harbors in Australia. Old Tom was a legendary killer whale(Orca) that would herd blue whales into the bay to be slaughtered. Whalers would reward the killer whales with treats of blue whale tongues and cheeks. After a cruise around the bay, we visited the whaling museum where Old Tom’s skeleton is on display. Two fold Bay is a beautiful area. Visitors are treated to numerous whale sittings in July - November. Whaling has been illegal in Australia since the 1970’s.

We spent an amazing day driving through the beautiful country of New Zealand on our way to and from Hobbiton “The Shire” from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. This was located in a portion of a 12000 acre fairytale farm. Amazing place! Hobbiton far exceed our expectation’s. We now need to go back a rewatch the movies.

Day of the Dead Diving - an unusual and sad day of diving in Key Biscayne National Park and Neptune Memorial Park off the coast of Miami, Fl . Read more about it at Castabouttravel.com

Went for a dive at the Neptune Memorial reef near Key Biscayne, Fl. This is a 16 acre memorial site where families can intern their love ones by mixing ashes with cement to form molds of sea life or animals. Each has a plaque with the name of the person, life dates and a personal message. These structures attract coral to form a living reef. A variety of sea life makes this memorial reef their home including the big grouper and barracuda seen in the pictures. This reef continues to grow and evolve with each new internment and reef growth. Not sure who the big lion belonged to but he must have cost a lot. The small starfish are priced at $12,000. I told Dani I want to be a sea dragon. 😆

Danielle and I did four dives with Pura Vida Divers down in West Palm Beach over the weekend. Great dives with lots of varieties of fish. We saw at least six different eels. This guy was ready to jump at me.
