Vegas Balloon Rides shows you the Las Vegas valley from an aerial view. Your Hot Air Balloon adventure begins when you meet your Pilot and Flight Crew.

The flights meet approximately a 1/2 hour before sunrise. At the launch site, your flight crew will brief you on your upcoming balloon adventure. Then, you will watch with awe as your balloon takes shape before your eyes, ultimately standing more than 10 stories tall. Once fully inflated and ready for takeoff, climb into the gondola and begin the adventure of a lifetime. During your flight, you wi

ll get a spectacular bird's eye view of the gorgeous Red Rock Mountains and the famous Las Vegas Strip. You will drift silently over the city and countryside where you will watch for wildlife and talk with envious onlookers down below. After drifting serenely for approximately an hour we prepare for landing. Once on the ground, we share in the oldest of ballooning traditions, a champagne toast, and revel in the peace, tranquility, and beauty that you never before knew existed. For ballooning we require light winds, good visibility, and no precipitation. We fly at approximately 1000 feet. The flights can be 45 minutes in length, however, we do require up to 4 hours of your time for the entire adventure. Since we fly with the prevailing winds, our flight patterns and landing sites vary due to the changing wind directions. There is very little feeling of movement or sensation of height. Due to insurance restrictions, we cannot accept passengers under the age of 10, women who are / or may be pregnant, or those with heart, back or knee problems. If you have any questions about these restrictions please discuss them with one of our Customer Service Representatives. Private chartered flights are also available. Please ask for details on how we can make your special day even more memorable. Should your flight be cancelled by Vegas Balloon Rides due to inclement weather conditions, simply reschedule your flight online or call our office.

🌊 The world's first scheduled transatlantic flight, operated by Pan American Airlines, takes off!

🗓 June 28th, 1939 was a big day, not just for Pan American, but for commercial aviation. After years of on-again, off-again negotiations, public prognostication, and the long-promised prospect of a new epoch for global travel, the first flight with paying passengers took off to cross the Atlantic.

✈️ The big new Boeing B-314, NC 18605 Dixie Clipper left Port Washington on Long Island, bound for Lisbon and Marseilles by way of Horta, the Azores – via the so-called transatlantic “southern route.” Onboard were 22 paying passengers. Some had paid for the privilege years earlier.

💸 The flight of the Dixie Clipper, carrying the first paid passengers on June 28th, marked the beginning of what was expected to be the start of a new era. Now anyone – if they had the fare – could fly across the Atlantic. The concept had great power to fire the imaginations of ordinary people, as well as marketeers who could see the value of being identified with this new dimension of modern life.

💖 Yesterday we lost a dear friend and colleague to our VBR Crew, Virgil Newkirk.

💪🏼 Towards the end of 2019, he started showing up at our landing site and would just help us pack up. Eventually, he was working directly for us, he loved it so much.

Thank You (And a Free Ride) to all Essential Workers!

As uncomfortable as this stay-at-home order has been, if it weren’t for our essential workers who kept the grocery stores, gas stations, trucks, hospitals, medical facilities, and testing centers running, it would have been a much worse experience.

It wasn’t fun not being able to work, and, although it was the right call, it certainly wasn’t fun for us at Vegas Balloon Rides to ground our balloons. We were hugely disappointed to have to cancel hundreds of flights.

But one thing I kept telling the team is that we couldn’t give up. My mantra is this: “As sure as hot air rises, we’ll be back in the air. This will get better, and we will overcome this. And, when we do, we have to find a way to give back to those who took care of us during this crazy time.”

As the company now prepares for its reopening, we have decided to give something back to those essential workers who have risked their health and safety to take care of the rest of us. Deciding how to give back was a pretty easy decision for the company.

One thing Vegas Balloon Rides does really well is—provide Balloon Rides. So we decided to give back with what we do well. Therefore, anyone who has been deemed an Essential Worker during the pandemic is entitled to a FREE Balloon Ride with the company, and anyone they bring with them will get a discount on their flight as well.

Just give us a call in May and we will discuss this opportunity and schedule your flight for after the stay-at-home order is fully lifted. We still have safety restrictions to follow, as well as new precautionary measures to ensure everyone stays healthy, but we knew we had to say THANK YOU in the one way we know how, to everyone who took care of us.
