Had a pretty solid day at a gun auction in Manhattan today. Went with some specific choices in mind, but when good deals are there you just have to jump. If anyone is interested in any of our purchases, we picked up:

- (2) Saiga-12 semi-auto shotguns (yes we are absolutely keeping 1... lol) They have a 10 shell box mag, upgraded Tapco stock and grip - can take up to a 30 shell drum!

- A gorgeous Browning BPS Special 26" 20 gauge pump shotgun with a fully engraved receiver and walnut furniture.

- BSA semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun - capacity is 4

- Beretta 9000 S in .40 caliber with two factory 10 round magazines. Doesn't look like it's been fired.

- A Beretta 92A1 in 9mm

- A Sig Sauer P229 in .40 caliber

- A Sig Sauer P229 in .40 caliber

Probably keeping one of the Saiga-12 shotguns and at least the Sig P239... although the P229 may be staying for a while too... Shoot us an email/message if any of them peak your interest and we can send pictures and details. If you are in Kansas we can sell direct. If outside we can always ship to a local FFL to do the transfer.

Did an amazing "The Well Armed Woman" event this past weekend! TWAW had their annual state shoot with all of the Oklahoma Chapters. It was a really fun, and well run event with some great ladies. Kudos to Kara Gage and her team for a great job!

So, there have been a LOT of questions about the changes in purchasing NFA items, like silencers/suppressors since the Justice Department reworked the requirements this summer.

Here are the biggest changes:

- NFA Trusts: The biggest change has been the elimination of many of the benefits of a trust. Previously, a trust eliminated most of the background check and other requirements, plus made the trust owned items accessible by every member of the trust. Now, it is a MAJOR hassle. EVERY member of the trust must be fingerprinted and background checked for every NFA item that the trust purchases. We are seeing customers eliminate people from their trusts or closing the trust completely due to the added paperwork and headache.

- Fingerprinting: A completed fingerprint card with two passport photos is now required to be submitted with the ATF Paperwork for the individual buyer, or each person who will have access to the item in a trust. While most police departments do fingerprinting for a fee, this has added a large scheduling and time constraint. We have had one customer who had an issue with trust members not being able to get fingerprinting done as a police department would not do them for those living outside of their jurisdiction. Not normal, but adds complexity.

- Good News: The one good change is that there is no longer a requirement to gain the "approval" of the chief law enforcement in the area. The new requirement is just that they are "notified" of an NFA purchase.

Clearly these changes were intended to undermine Gun/NFA Trusts and to make NFA purchases more complicated. Once submitted it is still taking in excess of 6 months to get an NFA transfer to an end user approved.

Since the building the Overland Park show was in has been sold, there will be no OP show in the near future, so this is the closest and largest. Today and tomorrow... All... I need your help! At a recent show, I met a former military member. When he graduated from sniper school he was presented with a sniper round hogs tooth (bullet) necklace that he has since misplaced. I want to make him a replacement as a way of saying thank you for his service. The issue is that I don't know what type of necklace they were on when presented. I want it to be as accurate as possible. Does anyone out there know?
