My pantry was a hot mess, so I put on my thinking tiara and got to work. I commandeered an old dresser, made a top from our pecan wood, slapped some shelves up (with the help of my wonderful hubby of course), painted it up, and voila! Organization magic happened.

Yesterday's Sunbelt Ag Expo adventure was totally on point. I spent time in the horse pavilion and watched a ranch horse demo by clinician Trent Rhea of JTO Horsemanship, picked up some choice canning and gardening tips, and got the lowdown on beekeeping from Sowega Beekeepers - now I'm all abuzz. Throw in cattle, farm equipment, and some fantastic folks, and I'm already counting down to next year's event.

I've long sought a dough bowl candle, but found existing options either unappealing or too pricey. I decided to create one myself, sourcing a suitable bowl from Hobby Lobby and necessary materials. First, I sealed the interior to prevent wax pe*******on, then added wood crackle wicks, melted the wax, and poured it in. As it set, I incorporated dried orange slices and fresh sage and rosemary from my garden, finishing with cinnamon sticks. I'm pleased with the outcome, which now serves as a striking feature on my dining table.

We gave the Keurig a serious upgrade to make your coffee experience ridiculously amazing, throwing in perks like iced coffee, hot water for tea, a strong brew setting, and a bunch of cup size options, including travel mugs for good measure, because why not?

Our homegrown ribs were smoked to perfection this weekend, with a 3-2-1 method that's almost too good to be true, a sweet and smoky rub that's my secret weapon, peach juice because apples are basic, and a homemade peach bourbon BBQ sauce that's the icing on the cake!

Barn Landscaping Project - 2:

The landscaping project surrounding the barn has been completed, including irrigation, soil leveling, w**d barrier installation, and edging with river rock. I am very pleased with the results. As a finishing touch, horse shoes were added to the planters, which I hope will be enjoyed by our guests over the weekend.

Barn Landscaping Project - Part 1.

My husband sourced two shipping crates from his place of work, recognizing my ability to creatively repurpose them. I saw potential in utilizing them as planters to enhance the barn's entrance. After a thorough process of sanding, staining, sealing, and lining, they were successfully transformed.

Smoking again this weekend on the Camp Chef. This time I made a sweet Smokey rub, bourbon peach bbq sauce and injected a chicken with a mixture of peach juice, bourbon and butter. Once cooked, I pulled it and added the bbq sauce. Absolutely delicious!

Over the weekend, I hosted a cookout and utilized my Camp Chef XXL Pro to prepare a variety of mouthwatering meats. The dishes were a resounding success, with guests praising the flavors and presentation. The menu featured Brisket, Pork Loin stuffed and wrapped in bacon, Venison Loin stuffed with cream cheese, Venison tenderloin wrapped in bacon, Smoked cream cheese topped with bacon jam, deer balls, and a trio of sides including potato salad, broccoli salad, and strawberry salad.

This week, I'm blessed to host my daughter and her family, who are traveling from Texas! We'll make the most of this precious time together, creating lasting memories and sharing heartwarming moments. I'll have the privilege of teaching my granddaughter to ride a horse and introducing my newest grandson to the equine world. Additionally, we'll indulge in some mouthwatering smoked food.

I'm always looking for new ways to cook our homegrown meats, so I indulged in a Camp Chef XXL Pro pellet smoker last week. My husband found a recipe for smoked pulled ham with a peach glaze that sounded delicious, so I gave it a whirl. Conclusion? It was a ham-azing success!

What do we do when we're not working? We're not taking a break, that's for sure! Today, we're keeping busy by trimming those pecan trees and filling in holes left by the dead ones. The acre field is now ready for the horses to gallop around and have some fun!

It’s been a sweltering week here in Leesburg, GA which enabled us to harvest our second cut of hay with no glitches. We expect to get one more harvest in before the end of the season.
