The nutty adventure continues! After gathering all those pecans, we had to get crackin' - literally, cleaning and sorting them. We've got a gizmo for that, but setting it up? That was a whole 'nother can of nuts, but voila, mission accomplished!

This week on the farm has been relatively quiet, with only routine tasks to attend to, so I have decided to initiate holiday preparations by making my traditional Christmas cake and pudding.

Our herd's gone haywire, so we desperately needed a coral catch pen upgrade - cue All American Panel, LLC to the rescue! We snagged one and hammered it home over the weekend.

My pantry was a hot mess, so I put on my thinking tiara and got to work. I commandeered an old dresser, made a top from our pecan wood, slapped some shelves up (with the help of my wonderful hubby of course), painted it up, and voila! Organization magic happened.

The wait for our new venture is finally over...… We've been sitting on 20 acres of untapped pecan gold, just snacking on 'em for fun. But now, we've got some fancy gadgets to make harvesting less of a hassle. Ta-da! Fresh organic pecans galore! Stay tuned for the next stage of our nutty adventure.

Yesterday's Sunbelt Ag Expo adventure was totally on point. I spent time in the horse pavilion and watched a ranch horse demo by clinician Trent Rhea of JTO Horsemanship, picked up some choice canning and gardening tips, and got the lowdown on beekeeping from Sowega Beekeepers - now I'm all abuzz. Throw in cattle, farm equipment, and some fantastic folks, and I'm already counting down to next year's event.
