Happy National Park Service Day!

What would we do without our National Parks? 🏜⛺️🏞🌄
On August 25, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed what is now called the Organic Act to establish the National Park Service. As part of the Department of Interior, the National Park Service protects 400 areas in 50 states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia, totaling 84 million acres.

Yellowstone National Park was established by an act signed by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872, as the nation's first national park! You can see the National Park timeline in the comments.

Mark & Maral came to me after 3 attempts to get this trip scheduled and were near tears when I met them. I was able to find the perfect package so they could enjoy Crete and be in Athens in time for an Il Volo concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus - that’s going to be amazing! I know they’re going to love Greece and looking forward to seeing their pictures 😍

Disney Adventure is the seventh ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and work is currently underway in Germany. It’ll be the first Disney ship to sail from Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia and feature the Disney service, storytelling and entertainment everyone knows and loves. ⚓

Breaking news! For all of you fellow Iceland and/ or volcano lovers out there: Volcanologist Þorvaldur Þórðarson said there are signs that a considerable amount of lava is pooling below Iceland’s surface with the estimated location of eruption being just north of Meradalir. This last erupted in August 2022. The volcano is between Reykjavik and the Keflavik International Airport.

Fun news for Marriott brand lovers! Marriott International’s first-ever Marriott all-inclusive property will open next year at the site of the former Marriott Cancun resort.
The property, located in the middle of the Cancun resort zone, has been in the midst of an extensive renovation since March, one that will continue until it reopens under the name Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort in early 2024 (the company has yet to reveal the exact date).
Renovation plans call for redesigned guest rooms, suites, meeting spaces, new food and beverage outlets, a state-of-the-art fitness center, daily and nightly entertainment venues, several different pools, and a separate lazy river and waterpark.
The property, which has been one of Marriott’s legacy property in the Yucatan Peninsula for several decades, will still offer access to the Mexican Caribbean shoreline.
“Travelers will be relieved to discover that they will not be bidding their beloved Marriott Cancun Resort a permanent goodbye, but instead, expecting a very exciting reopening with a more modern product, as the property is being reimagined by Marriott, and utilizing the space to offer a sophisticated twist to the traditional all-inclusive concept,” said Alex Fiz, Area Vice President Caribbean & Managing Director All-Inclusive for Marriott International.
“Cancun is one of the world’s most exclusive resort destinations, an ideal fit for the first Marriott branded all-inclusive hotel and a future renewed hub for its trusting guests and our Marriott Bonvoy members that look for a wonderful stay in a seamless all-inclusive format.”
While the property will be the first Marriott-branded all-inclusive, a number of other properties that fall under the Marriott banner are already operating as all-inclusives, including some in Cancun such as the Royalton Splash.

Interesting news for frequent travelers and Apple users. What do you think about this development in identification?
- Apple has recently launched digital state IDs for the iPhone Wallet app starting with Arizona and Maryland.
- The technology will be expanded to Colorado and Georgia as part of a nationwide rollout.
- This technology aims to simplify the identification process and eliminate the need for physical driver's licenses at security checkpoints.
- Once a state accepts your submission a digital ID will be created and stored on your iPhone, which can also be added to your Apple Watch.
- Compatible TSA checkpoints can accept the digital ID, reducing the need to show your physical ID.
- When using digital ID, you'll tap your iPhone near the identity reader, perform a Touch ID or Face ID scan, and confirm sharing your identity information with the TSA.
- Travelers should continue to carry their physical ID as well in case TSA requires it for verification.
- Apple is actively working with other states to enable digital IDs to offer the technology in the coming weeks and months.

Hola from Costa Rica! First full day and we did the Arenal Volcano hike. Our guide was so sweet and taught us quite a bit about this fascinating volcano. It was beautiful! Then a couple of hours in the thermal pools nearby and dinner. A great way to spend our first day in this gorgeous country.

This is me and my beloved in Santorini.🇬🇷 We were in Greece with another couple and the 4 of us thought it would be a good idea to do the 6.5 mile hike from from Fira to Oia.🥾We started after lunch and stopped along the way to stare in awe at beautiful views of the sea. We only got about halfway on the hike when the sun started to set and the weather got really cold!🥶None of us brought a jacket and we lost the trail. Thankfully we found a bus stop and hopped on the next bus back to our flat in Oia. Before we did that though, we managed to find a spot on a hill near a really cute church and watch a magical sunset.🌅 I’d love to know - have you seen an awesome sunset somewhere? Where were you? 💜

Lei Day is a celebration of Hawaiian culture, or the aloha spirit. People commonly celebrate by giving gifts of leis to one another. Schools also put on plays and elect a Lei Day court of Kings and Queens to represent the different islands. Each island has its own symbol that is composed of a color and a flower.
