In Maui, NPR joined a tour boat operator to see the grassroots initiative the local surfing community and neighbors started to fill in gaps not currently being filled by official channels.
Please share. Small businesses in Maui cannot survive without visitors. The tragedy of these fires only perpetuates more suffering when visitors don’t come and more businesses close. Please don’t cancel your trips to our beautiful island.

Hawaiian Monk Seals are an endangered species, and not a common sight. There are only about 1,400 Hawaiian Monk Seals on earth.
This guy appeared out of no where, and we were delighted! Our guests kept a respectful distance while he swam and played. Just a reminder that everyday is truly an adventure 🐠
