One last pumpkin pie spiced latte before hitting the road home. The coffee and the people at Sippers in the Valley can’t be beat.

The atmosphere was great. The kid’s pizza was tremendous. The Chicken Alfredo, manicotti, broccoli penne were also good.

Unfortunately, there were people crawling all over the falls after I got this one picture, so I didn’t get any good video at Mingo Falls. We’ll have to get there earlier to beat the crowd next time.

Mingo Falls was our second hack of the day.

To get to Mingo Falls you can head toward Cherokee on Highway 19 and go all the way into Cherokee or you can take the BRP. We suggest that you take one we’re going and the other back.

The trail to the Falls is almost entirely paved. However, it is strenuous because there are 161 paved steps. The payoff for all the work is tremendous. These pictures does not do it justice because of the angle of the sun. We suggest that you go earlier in the day to get the best view.

We did two hikes today. If we had gotten up earlier, we would have been done by lunch.

These pictures are from Soco Falls. To get to Soco Falls, drive from Maggie toward Cherokee. From Creeks Edge Retreat, drive 8.4 miles. There is a pull out on the left. We suggest going to Soco Falls early in the morning on a weekday as parking is VERY limited. We find it’s better to back your car in if possible to make departure easier. The upper trail leads to an observation deck. In the winter, the view is fairly unobstructed. In the summer, the view is not as good. The lower trail is strenuous. Using ropes is required to get to the stream as seen in these pictures.
