Did you know? Shortly after Little Creek Outfitters was founded John Ecklund, the founder, had a Lodge on the Grande Ronde River. A few legendary individuals graced the guide roster. Bill McMillian was fixture at times guiding and instructing at the lodge. alone side the amazing Patty Rielly worked as primary guides in those early years of the 1990’s. Dec was 28 years old in that first photo! I was also 28 when I started guiding for Ecklund in 2001. What a foundation to the company Mia and I would acquire 10 years after that photo Dec took of Patty at Courtney Creek in 93’ on the Ronde. We are truly honored these folks are a part of the history of LCO.

This is where it all started for and .

Marty got a job with in 2001 as a guide on a steelhead trip on the Grande Ronde. Marty turned out to be an excellent guide. John Ecklund who owned Little Creek at the time invited Marty to guide the following season on the John Day for smallmouth bass. Marty accepted the job and in 2003 we purchased Little Creek Outfitters from him.

With the purchase of LCO we acquired the BLM special recreational permit on the John Day and started guiding anglers on multi day fishing trips for smallmouth bass and steelhead.

In celebration of 20 years of owning an outfitting business and taking people on wilderness fishing adventures we are going to showcase many more photos of the anglers we are honored to have guided over the years and the rivers we love and care so much about.
