BIG EASY BIRDHOUSES has been busy completing this model of the historic David Crockett Fire Company No. 1 fire station building in Gretna, Louisiana. The fire chief commissioned this model as a personal celebration of his career with the local fire company. Although it will not be used as a birdhouse, it is representative of the work that can be done to customize a birdhouse.

The historic building was constructed around 1850 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It currently serves as a fire museum. It was the beginning of the oldest continually active volunteer fire department in the USA.
