This past week, we celebrated Earth Day and Arbor Day. So many travel destinations are places we go because of the beauty of nature:

the Grand Canyon, the redwoods, Yellowstone, Central Park ...
🌇
sandy beaches, tree- and snow-covered mountains, beautiful lakes and rivers, aquariums and zoos ...
🌄
We can all agree that we should protect this beautiful planet we call home.
So, at home and abroad, please take care of nature for all of us to enjoy, and so generations to come can see that beauty too.

After getting off our cruise back in Sydney, we met up with two friends we had met on our first cruise ever! What a fun reunion, like no time had passed.

We climbed the tower of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, wandered through Luna Park, had coffee in The Rocks and on Circular Quay, found good sausage rolls and meat pies, ate fish and chips at Watson Bay, and for our last dinner had parmas and burgers in Darling Harbour.

The perfect finish to this great trip.
Farewell Sydney!

Cruise destinations are fun and educational, but a large part of why we cruise is ship life itself.

Food, shows, deck parties, piano bar, comedy club, pools, and of course time with friends.

Highlights were:

A Maori traditional canoe, waka, with beautiful carvings.

The first European settlement in New Zealand.

A drive through the countryside.

Puketi Forest, home to some of the tallest and longest-living trees in the world, kauri.

Our tour guide's community meeting house, marae, and welcome ceremony.

Tour our 3-bedroom apartment in the suburbs of Sydney with me!

During these first few days of our Australia adventure, we stayed at Meriton Suites Zetland. It was just enough room for the five of us, in budget, walking distance to groceries and coffee, and convenient to public transit.

The staff at Meriton Suites was also amazing. When we went straight there after our 15+ hour flight yo drop our bags, they let us check in hours early! They must have seen the exhaustion on us. 😴 They also brought us several boxes of coffee throughout our stay. ☕️
Would definitely stay here again!

Day 3 was our public transit day!
Public transit in Sydney includes trains, busses, light rail and ferries. Max fare on weekends is about $6 USD, so as many rides on all of the above as you want.

After Easter Mass, a drink at the Australian Heritage Hotel, and lots of stairs, we took the Fast Ferry from Sydney Circular Quay to Manly Beach, enjoyed lunch at 4 Pines Brewing Company, then took the ferry and train back to Zetland.

A very relaxing day with great views and fun times.

For our second day in Australia, we booked a tour with Blue Mountains Day Tours. It included breakfast, lunch, Blue Mountains National Park, Scenic World Blue Mountains, and Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. All with a driver/guide and only 21 people in our tour group.

It was amazing to get outside the city and enjoy nature in different ways.

Our first day, we wandered our neighborhood Zetland, and visited iconic Bondi Beach.
Highlights are amazing coffee, eucalyptus trees everywhere, and sushi by the half-roll!

15 hour flight was long but not as bad as expected.

Sharing more about the wonder of Disney, we had a great experience with tech support today.

Returning Walt Disney World guests had accidentally linked their reservation with a different My Disney Experience app account than on previous visits, so their old Magic Bands wouldn't link for their upcoming visit.

Your favorite travel agents spent 5 minutes on the phone with a Disney Cast Member and ALL previous Magic Bands were located and linked to the right accounts!
Now these guests can access their room, their meal plan, the parks, and their PhotoPass with just a touch of the wrist.

With customer service that amazing, maybe it really is the most magical place on earth...
