🏅Finish line Friday but this time on the beaches of Castaway Cay!

🏝️ Did you know you can run a 5k when you visit Disney's Castaway Cay?
What’s great about this 5k is you can do it on your own time. Want to wake up bright and early and run it first thing? Perhaps you want to get off the ship with your family, enjoy some beach time then go run it before lunch? You can do that too!
We decided to take it easy, spend some time on the beach, have lunch and head back to the ship. My husband stayed behind and ran it, then we switched and I returned on my own - a truly relaxing way to spend time on a beautiful path around Castaway Cay!

You can receive your medal at the end of the 5k path BUT make sure it's before 3pm when they close! I wasn't able to get my medal on the island but I did get one at guest services once I got back on the ship.

⛱ Dreaming of summer? 😎 It’s always summer at Disney’s Beach Club at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Beach Club Resort (and Yacht Club Resort) has the only sand-bottom pool on Walt Disney World property. But to call this a pool is an understatement. At 3 acres in size, Stormalong Bay is more like a mini-waterpark, right at your resort! Sink your toes in the sand by the water’s edge. Float in the lazy river. Play water games. Climb up to the top of a pirate ship and shoot down the slide. 🏴‍☠️ Relax in one of the hot tubs after a day in the park.

💫 A perk to staying on-site at Walt Disney World: character vans! Characters may randomly show up to your resort where you can interact and take photos in the most fun and authentic way! Talk about Disney magic right on your doorstep!
✨ I was (very sleepily) walking to take the bus to Epcot at Wilderness Lodge after my post-half marathon nap and I walked right into Donald, Pluto and Goofy saying hello to anyone walking by! It gives you a nice, authentic opportunity to say hello to characters you may have to wait in long lines for at the parks! Also makes for a super fun surprise!

🛳 3 ways to plan a Disney Cruise vacation on YOUR budget:

1️⃣ Travel during off-peak times. The most expensive time to cruise will almost always be during the summer months, holidays and typical school breaks. Try January/early February, early May, or the fall (avoiding holiday weekends) for the best prices.
2️⃣ Book EARLY! Prices are typically going to be the lowest when they first release sailing dates for booking. PLUS I provide price monitoring so you can rest assured that if the price DOES go down, I’ve got you covered and will ensure you’re always getting the best price available.
3️⃣ Make payments! And this goes along with booking early – the sooner you book, the more time you have to pay down your vacation. We can make payments as frequently as you’d like and in any amount you’d like to minimize the stress of paying for your cruise all at once.

How far in advance do you usually book your vacation? Do you like the idea of making payments over time? I think this is a huge perk that so many people don’t realize is an option when booking your vacation through a Travel Advisor!

⭐️ Disney's All-Star Resorts are a great option for those who are go-go-go! At a great value, these resorts, made up of 3 separate themed resorts (Music, Movies and Sports), are a good place for you if you're planning to spend most of your time in the parks. These are also great options for runDisney events! I stayed at All-Star Sports on my previous trip for Princess Half Marathon weekend where I ONLY used my room to sleep and shower!

➡ Quick Service: You order at a counter and take your food to a table, does not require a reservation
➡ Table Service: Sit-down dining option where a server takes your order, typically needs a reservation. (These open 60 day prior to travel and I make them for you!)

🍭 A Magic Kingdom visit is not complete without a stop at Main Street Confectionery at closing time- it has become a tradition for me! It’s always my last stop before leaving Magic Kingdom where I can treats for myself to have at home while in the Disney blues or to take to friends and family as souvenirs. It is absolutely my favorite Disney snack!
Place a mobile order as late as you’d like (around park closing time) and you’ll still have access to Main Street area for a chance to take some photos without crowds!

Just walking through the entrance of this resort, you'll already feel like you're walking straight into New Orleans. S**t Cat's Club is great for adults to enjoy some drinks and live jazz, while the pools have fun slides and splash pad for kids. Plus, it has one of the BEST treats on Disney property: beignets!

💥 Travel down memory lane at of my favorite Disney resorts: Pop Century! This is a great value resort if you want to spend less money because you're spending most of your time at the parks OR spend less money but still with lots to do at the resort and around the area.

* Recently renovated rooms with a sleek, clean, modern look but value priced
* Fun theming that will remind you of your youth- whenever that may have been!
* Has a great running trail that loops around the lake, in case you want to sneak in a quick run!

📸 Of course, when you visit Walt Disney World EVERYONE wants a photo of Cinderella's Castle, the icon herself. And I'm sure you can figure out ways to take a picture with it or of it. BUT instead of searching of a good angle when you're there, save this post so you're ready and don't waste any time!
✨ These are some of the best places to take shots of the castle for family photos or simply of the castle herself to admire later because she's just so pretty.
⭐ Pro-tip, the best time to get a photo with a near empty background, ROPE DROP! I've gotten quite a few photos of my daughter dancing in front of the castle like it's all hers. 🥹
⭐ Also STAY LATE! Nothing is more magical than Cinderella's Castle at night with no crowds in your picture. And when you're done with photos, you can float down Main Street with an ice cream in hand and enjoy the lights and music.

(Tip about the above 2 tips (lol) pick rope drop or staying late! Unless you're a seasoned Disney-goer or you don't have littles and have had coffee all day, rope-drop to closing can be a long day!)
➡ Don't forget to use Disney PhotoPass photographers for AMAZING photos!

🌟 A HIGHLY IMPORTANT topic when planning your Disney vacation! I cannot stress enough just how beneficial it is to stay on Disney property! Check out this huge list of perks and my top 2 reasons based on my own experience!
➡️ I recently stayed off-site, and while the resort we stayed at was beautiful and had everything we needed and more, you lose a touch of the Disney magic when you're not in the Disney bubble. We would go to the parks or get back, and everyone would be dressed normal and we would be in full Disney gear! (Or looking like a hot mess after being in the parks 😅) When you stay on-site, you feel the Disney magic wherever you are and you will feel just at home with everyone else wearing Disney outfits and Minnie ears!
➡️ More importantly, transportation is SO MUCH EASIER when you stay on-site. You are on the hotel's schedule for transportation, meaning you're always on a schedule and you have to give yourself plenty of time to make it back to your shuttle, which drops you off/picks you up further away than where Disney transportation buses do. I found myself constantly rushed, worried about returning to my shuttle pick-up area instead of enjoying my time. We even missed our buses a few times and ended up being a big waste of park time (and rest time!).

🛳 One of the many great things about Disney cruises is they have something for everyone, including kids clubs and a nursery! Cruising with littles under 3? Disney Cruise Line has you covered with the adorable It’s a Small World Nursery! Extra fees apply and pre-booking is require but it’s worth it for parents/adults to enjoy other amazing experiences aboard the ship while the babies are in a safe and fun space!
