My name is Maggie Bacallao✨
I am the director of the 2D animated short “When Rain Falls.”
The story is about a young girl named Willow, who gets bullied for wearing a pair of green froggy rain boots only to soon discover through an act of kindness that it’s okay to be weird.
The concept was pitched to industry professionals and selected by TelevisaUnivision to be mentored by during the creation of the animated short.
From 2023-2024 academic year at Miami Dade College’s MAGIC Program, I lead a diverse team of students in the start and completion of the project.
I created the Production Bible to assist the team in matching the style, color boards, and overall look for the story. In addition to creating the foundation of work, I aided in the character designs, story, environments, and frame by frame animation.
Throughout this journey I hope to God willing create more stories and have the opportunity to share them with others.
