Seen recently were some White-tailed deer near the woods at the southern edge of the Heron Rookery trail.

White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) are the largest herbivore found at Indiana Dunes National Park. Deer live throughout the park and keen-eyed visitors may spot them any time of day.

2:00 p.m. - “SHELL”-A-BRATE TURTLES!
Come celebrate the New Year with our turtles in the Nature Center. You will see a few up-close and learn what they do in the winter.

Calling all artists!
We are now accepting applications for the 2024 Artist-in-Residence program. The program at Indiana Dunes offers professional artists the opportunity to live in the park for an extended period of time to create art that helps generate appreciation and support for its natural beauty throughout generations to come. In exchange, the artist donates a piece of art created during their stay. Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2024.
