It's your chance to win some cash money! Drop off your carved pumpkin at the Judges table located in front of Debbie's Thrift and Boutique for a chance to win $100, $50, or $25.

Reba's Flower Shop right here in Monterey, TN. Reba has been in business for over 40 years and has a wonderful selection of quilts, bible bookstore products, wonderful flower arrangements for your loved one and she now offers imprints!

Reba has announced that right now she is having a drawing for this awesome King James Bible (showed in picture) and she will imprint the name of your choice on the front cover. This bible has a $75 value and all you have to do is go into her shop and put your name in the bucket. The drawing will take place Dec 23rd, 2024.

Please, plan to attend our public open house to discuss the Town of Monterey Commercial Avenue Complete Streets Plan. Tuesday, October 22 at Monterey High School 4pm to 6pm.

This is an opportunity to learn about the project and to share your experiences and thoughts about Commercial Avenue.

We also hope you will take time to complete the survey for this project. You can complete the survey by scanning the QR code below.

Background on this project: With a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), the Town of Monterey has initiated the development of a Complete Streets Plan focused on improving mobility, connectivity, and safety along Commercial Ave from S. Poplar St. to Crossville St. Monterey aims to create a street with safe and accessible transportation options for everyone in the community. We want to hear from everyone about their experiences and what is needed to ensure safe and enjoyable travel along and through Commercial Ave. This is a chance to shape the future of transportation in Monterey.

Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree is Saturday, October 26. MORE INFO BELOW!

Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree is Saturday, October 26. Below, you will find some information about the festival.

Activities: bounce houses, games, food, pumpkin carving contest, bobbing for apples contest, candy, music, and movie.

Where will the movie screen be located and what movie will be shown?
The 24-foot inflatable big screen will be located in the parking lot adjacent to the Monterey Depot Museum and behind the Imperial Hotel. Halloweentown will be shown on the big screen at 7pm.

How can I sign up for the bobbing for apples contest? What is the prize if you win the contest?
Contact the Monterey Depot Museum at 931-839-2111. Winners will receive a gift card to a local Monterey business.

Do we carve pumpkins at the event?
NO. Please, bring your carved pumpkin to the event and place it at the judge's table. The top three winners will receive cash prizes. ($100 to 1st place, $50 to 2nd place, and $25 to 3rd place.)

Is this a trunk or treat?
NO. This is NOT a trunk or treat. Businesses, churches, and other organizations will be handing out candy from table or tent booths along Commercial Avenue. If your business, church, or organization wants to participate, contact 931-349-6123 or [email protected].

What time do businesses, churches, and organizations need to have their booths set up by?
No later than 4:30 p.m.

Does this event mean we can't trick-or-treat on Halloween night? NO. Halloween is always on October 31st. Homes and some churches in Monterey will be expecting trick-or-treaters Thursday evening.

Should we wear costumes to Jack-O'-Lantern Jamboree? Sure! We encourage parents and children to show off their Halloween costumes during the festival.
