on May 20 for a evening of history & treats! Free Will Donation & a non-perishable item for the Renville County Food Shelf! Carolyn Mankell Sowinski will be presenting on her book about The Great Storm: Minnesota's Victims in The Blizzard of Jan 7, 1873 on the RCHS Museum Grounds! -

Main Museum is open Sept. - May Monday - Friday 10 AM - 4 PM. June-August Mon.-Sat. 10 AM to 4 PM. The Research Library is by appointment only, please call 507-697-6147. Out builidings are closed for the season.

Renville County Historical Society and Museum is working on another project for the 2024 Morton All School Reunion! The Morton School published newsletters are various times and we are gathering these for preservation. Smoke Signals and Blue & Gold were the publications. Santa Clause is coming to this Friday, November 17, 2023 6:30-8 pm at the Morton Senior Center on Main Street (right next to the fire hall where they will be serving steaks. Take a photo with Santa & enjoys some kids activities!

Join the Morton Senior Center for their annual November fundraiser on November 4, 2023. They will be serving starting at 8 AM and have a bake sale, craft sale and plant sale! This supports their building fund! Be sure to check out the beautiful new mural on their building. It adds a lot of spirit & color to Morton's Main Street.

RCHS Upcoming Events - [Campaign URL] Join us on Thursday, September 7 at 6 PM at the Birch Coulee Battlefield north of Morton for Jerry Weldy's presentation and tour of the Birch Coulee Battle that took place Sept 2 & 3, 1862. FREE WILL DONATION and item for the Renville County Food Shelf will be appreciated. Refreshments will be served at the site. Bring a lawn chair or blanket (limited seating).

Heads up! The HomeTown Bank of Olivia and Redwood Falls will be hosting their Free Community Shred Day on Friday, May 5, 2023. Olivia branch 10 am - Noon and Redwood Falls branch 1 PM - 3 PM. Bring your old bank statements and other private documents to safely shred. Only paper will be accepted - no binders or other items. 3 box maximum!
