Both Gonzaga and Ziplines representatives said their goal is to enhance the workforce in the area and help students build careers for themselves:

SPOKANE — Gonzaga University announced a partnership with Ziplines Education in late March designed to help Zags and other Eastern Washington students fortify their skills in the workforce through certification programs.

While we had a bit more rain/snow over the winter than recent years, that hasn't led to a surplus of H2O in the Basin:

OLYMPIA — Water, water everywhere… or maybe not. The irrigation situation in Eastern Washington has made a rather sudden turnaround. “We are not in a drought, officially,” said Emily Tasaka, communications manager with the Washington State Department of Ecology. “We’ve issued a statewide...

While the term "port" may inspire thoughts of cargo ships, in Washington, it really means something a little different:

EASTERN WASHINGTON — The word “port” is a bit misleading when it comes to port districts in Washington. No body of water is required to be considered a port in this state. Rather, ports are set up as municipal districts run by an elected board of commissioners. “Ports in Washington State are...

6/24/23 UPDATE: Many have asked if Tiny is still here. The answer is YES. She is patiently waiting for her perfect home. There has got to be someone who is able to open their hearts and homes to this deaf girl. Even though her previous owners abused her 😢her little heart is still wanting human love😭. We as humans could learn so much from animals…if you can’t help Tiny right now PLEASE SHARE THIS POST AND LETS FIND HER A HOME!!!

UPDATE: Tiny is STILL here. It is NOT her fault she’s deaf. It is NOT her fault she was abused by her previous owners. It is NOT her fault she had chemical burns on her face. ALL SHE WANTS IS TO FEEL SAFE AND BE LOVED!

Grant County meet our sweet treasure TINY…..she is a female spayed pitbull mix that has had a horrible life 😢. Sweet Tiny is deaf, yep you read it right AGAIN!!! Another discarded deaf dog. Tiny is about 5 years old and loves to snuggle, take long naps, loves her toys, loves people, is terrified of cats (we run from the kitties) and she is about 47 pounds. GCAO does not know how Tiny became deaf, but one thing we know for sure, she WAS ABUSED. She has chemical burns on her face due to abuse. Even in her horrible past Tiny still finds in her heart room for love of humans. Tiny is of course scared to death of cats, and she gets along with some dogs, so we would need a meet n greet 🥰. Tiny is unsure at the moment of car rides (which could be because she’s deaf or because of the abuse,) but she is trying her hardest to be in her furever home. We need help Grant County anyone out there with a heart for abused, deaf, love pup???

The abused, abandoned, and discarded are GCAO’S treasures.
