Our Story
Pure Michigan... Pure Munising... They say, "It ain't heaven, but it feels like it!"
In the Springtime, the world comes alive here in every corner of the Hiawatha National Forest, baby animals come out with their Mommas, the ice in the bay floats out, and flowers bloom. Summer brings that world to full life, with Lake Superior inviting everyone to swim in waters that begin mighty cold and warm throughout the summer, and waterfalls pouring their soft or thundering waters over their ledges. A mini-West (our mountains are just a tad bit shorter) with a bit of the Bahamas’ teal blue waters comes ablaze with colors in the Fall leaving folks awe-inspiring vistas from shoreline to mountain top. And when those leaves fall, old man winter is not far behind ready to sprinkle (and sometimes pour) that white stuff all over our miles and miles of snowmobile, cross-country skiing and hiking trails. Note that the East Channel Lighthouse doesn’t always look like that... in the summer, the leaves are green and in the fall, they are all sorts of reds, but this is an icon of Munising, just like our fall colored hills. Come and enjoy the four seasons of Munising. You know, you can sometimes see the edge of the world if you just stand on your tip toes at Miner’s Castle....
