CANCELLATION NOTICE

CARNIVAL VISTA

7/06/2019, 7/13/2019, 7/20/2019

Dear Carnival Vista Guest,
Carnival Vista has been experiencing an issue affecting its maximum cruising speed. Unfortunately, we will be unable to operate the above voyages, as it is necessary to remove the ship from service to complete the required repairs.

We sincerely apologize for the unanticipated disruption to your vacation plans. We are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to deliver the cruise we had planned for you.

We will automatically process a full refund of your cruise fare, including pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions and any FunShop purchases. Please be advised that it could take up to three weeks to process through your bank.

We will reimburse you up to US$200.00, per person, for any independent air expenses and/or change fees. Please submit supporting documentation via email to [email protected].

Since we'd love nothing more than to welcome you back, we will be extending a 100% future cruise credit.* The credit must be used to rebook a sailing taking place before December 20, 2020.

Once again, we are very sorry for the disappointment this has caused and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you on a Carnival cruise in the near future.

----------------------------------

I am sure there is a massive dollop of mixed emotion for those affected by this news. I am here to answer any questions or listen to your views and will make sure the right people see them too.

I hope that the complimentary cruise is one that you can book as soon as possible and please know that the crew on all our ships are ready to show you the best of times and give you the fun you so very much deserve
And that includes of course the crew of the Carnival Vista who I hope will be given the chance to serve and entertain you.

Thanks so much and again I am here to listen and to help you all I can.

Did You Know?

What's pizza without a refreshing beverage? Now our guests won't have to answer that question! Following the successful rollout of Carnival Cruise Line HUB App's 'Pizza Anywhere' feature, we've expanded to include beverage delivery! After choosing a hand-tossed pizza, your clients will be asked whether they would like a beer, soda or water to accompany their meal. To place an order, guests simply tap on the ship's map to mark their location, take a selfie to identify themselves and select their desired order. It's on a few ships now but will rollout fleetwide in the coming months!

Cheers!

CARNIVAL NEWS:
FASTER EMBARKATION PROCESS (SAIL & SIGN CARD/KEYS)

In an effort to speed up the embarkation process, guests on the following ships will pick up their Sail & Sign® card/keys in a sealed envelope that is placed outside their stateroom door when their stateroom is ready. This is a change from picking them up at check-in, inside the cruise terminal. Instead of guests using their Sail & Sign card to board the ship (since they won’t have one yet), they will use their boarding pass. If they wish to make a purchase on board before they pick up their Sail & Sign card, their boarding pass can be used for all purchases on embarkation day.

This new process is safe and secure, helps speed up the boarding process and as a result, guests get on the ship faster. The identity photo taken for the guest's Sail & Sign card will still be taken at check-in and will appear anytime the guest makes a purchase with their boarding pass or Sail & Sign card.

This new system is currently in place on the following ships: Carnival Breeze, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Imagination, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Magic, Carnival Sensation, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Valor, Carnival Victory and Carnival Vista.

Cruise Fashion: What Not to Wear on a Cruise

By Sarah Wagner
Cruise Critic Contributor
Save
Updated April 11, 2018
The life of a cruise fan can be full of surprises. From Goth and vampire conventions to Hogs on the High Seas, you'd be forgiven for thinking that at sea, anything goes. But when it comes to dress codes, there are some hard and fast rules you should think twice before breaking (for everyone's sake). Inspired by our Cruise Critic members' forum "What's the strangest thing you've seen on a cruise?", we've pulled together some of their top tips on what not to wear, from cabin to pool and everywhere in between -- and what to wear instead.

1. Speedos
Gentlemen, it's time to face facts -- Speedos are not your friend. Borderline unacceptable even on super-hunks and models (David Gandy, we're talking about you) these Australian micro-trunks are a harsh taskmaster on any man. The same goes for thongs, g-strings and any other below-the-waist sartorial offering that can be measured in millimeters rather than inches. Our advice? Don't do it. But, a word to the wise from our Cruise Critic members -- if you do decide to take the plunge, remember: running in Speedos is never a good idea.

What to wear instead: These calypso board shorts are festive, yet long enough to take on the Flo-Rider without coverage issues.

2. String Bikinis
Popular in the '70s, the string bikini has been a beach-time staple ever since. A firm favorite with some cruise lovers, it can often be more foe than friend, and tales of accidental flashing and abundant "excess baggage" are much loved on the forum. While the old saying goes "if you've got it, flaunt it," make sure you're not revealing more than you (or your fellow cruisers), bargained for.

What to wear instead: For most of us, a flattering cover-up removes any danger of "oversharing" when getting up from the sun lounger or wandering to the bar.

3. Unusual Swim Accessories
Trunks, swimsuits, bikinis and board shorts -- there's a wide range of swimwear out there to suit everyone, and it's always nice to chuck on a few accessories to make the outfit your own. Yet there are some little extras that you can (and perhaps should) avoid, whether it's pantyhose under your swimsuit (complete with reinforced gusset and toe), a tattooed crotch or underwear in lieu of an actual swimsuit. Also, dental floss has no place on the pool deck.

What to wear instead: A cute sun hat is one accessory that's always in style at the pool.

Tuscan Grille on Celebrity Eclipse

4. Bunny Slippers at Dinnertime
From monster claws to kittens, there's a fluffy foot covering for everyone, and bedroom slippers are perfect for relaxing in your cabin. However, a glamorous evening dress topped off with a pair of cozy slippers is apparently not as unusual of a sight as you'd think. Return trips to the buffet are undoubtedly comfier minus the heels, but when it comes to dining outside your cabin, most cruise fans advise you to leave the bunnies 'til bedtime.

What to wear instead: You don't have to wear high heels to make an impression at formal night; a pair of sparkly flat sandals will do just fine!

5. Pajamas and Bathrobes in a Restaurant
Cruises are all about relaxing. There's nothing like slipping into soft, snuggly plaid at the end of a long day, and many cruise lines provide bathrobes for free in suites, mini-suites and deluxe balcony cabins. That said, wear your bathrobe to dinner and you might spot a few raised eyebrows or be turned away from the restaurant if it has a formal dress code. Can't bear to be bathrobe-less? Make it an event -- such as the bathrobe-themed anniversary dinner we read about on the forum -- and wear your pajamas with pride!

What to wear instead: If you're looking for something comfy-cozy to pull on for a quick buffet trip, take a look at this easy-breezy tunic -- perfect for layering over leggings.

6. (Unintentionally) Revealing Clothing
Staple of the seas, glamorous cocktail dresses come hand-in-hand with daring necklines and the occasional flash of leg. The issue comes (and the glamour goes) when the flesh you flash is more than you bargained for. Such was the tale we read of a stylish lady whose loosely-tied wrap dress fell to the floor on the way into dinner, revealing a tiny g-string and not much else. The moral of the story? Save your blushes and fasten ties and belts securely (and always wear underwear you don't mind showing off!)

What to wear instead: A faux wrap dress gives you the same look, without the potential for disrobing drama.

7. Your Birthday Suit
While there's nothing like the warmth of the sun on your skin, sunbathe naked onboard and you could feel the burn. Most cruise lines that cater to Americans do not permit n**e or topless sunbathing. The lure of an all-over glow can prove too much for some, and stories of full-frontal displays and naked strolls along the deck abound across the forum -- accompanied by a decent amount of sniggering. Save your birthday suit for your cabin, but beware of leaving the curtains open; the forum is full of anecdotes of half-asleep cruisers rising from a deep slumber to wander naked around their cabin for the world to see (and laugh at). Your private balcony is also not as private as you might think. A naked salute to the sun might not be the best idea (particularly if you're a late riser). Amorous balcony/open-curtain activities are also the source of much amusement, as are "romantic" moments in glass elevators (a cruise ship's answer to the mile-high club?).

What to wear instead: Did you know that there's such a thing as tan-through swimsuits? We'd go this route, rather than baring it all.

The Beach Pool

Bottom Line
From phallic-shaped necklaces and huge hair (hiding some seriously illegal substances), to 24/7 lifejackets, sailor outfits and a briefcase full of cat pictures, there's many a sight to be seen at sea and our Cruise Critic members have shared some of the best.

But, when packing for your cruise, it's important to remember this: cruises attract travelers of all shapes, backgrounds and tastes and, as individuals, there's no accounting for taste. After all, one man's fashion is another man's faux pas. The important thing is to feel comfortable and wear what you like best. If that happens to be a gorilla suit or skin-tight leopard-print spandex, so be it -- at the very least you'll give your fellow cruisers a laugh, and most likely have one yourself.

Carnival Fascination – Southern Caribbean Cruises

Earlier this week, we communicated that we were ready to resume our operation from San Juan on Carnival Fascination, with our first cruise departing this Sunday. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has since asked us to support the relief and rebuilding efforts and Carnival Fascination has been chartered to provide housing for relief workers in the U.S. Virgin Islands. These refunds will be processed to the original form of payment within three weeks. Gratuities will also be adjusted to reflect the shortened duration.

At this point, we have not changed the duration of any of our cruises. MIAMI (Aug. 30, 2017) – Carnival Cruise Line, and its parent company, Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), and the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation are pledging a minimum of $2 million to relief and rebuilding efforts in the Gulf Coast region in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the first Category 4 hurricane to make landfall in the United States since 2004.
Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Carnival Corporation, are each donating $500,000 to Harvey disaster relief efforts, for a total donation of $1 million from the company. Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison and his wife Madeleine are matching the corporation’s commitment with a $1 million donation from the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation.
To help generate additional relief funds, cruise guests sailing on certain Carnival Cruise Line cruises will have the option to make a donation when they check in for their cruise, while the corporation’s brands and employees will be participating as well.
“Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath, and all of us throughout the Carnival Corporation family feel a responsibility to do our part in supporting relief and rebuilding efforts in a region that we call home and where so many of our guests and business partners live and work,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We are very committed to the Gulf Coast as a vibrant and special part of the North American cruise industry, and our commitment will remain as strong as ever during the region’s recovery process. We know this storm is still active, so we will continue to hold positive thoughts for everyone in the region while exploring ways to support affected communities as they recover and rebuild.”
Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Corporation are working together with emergency response authorities, community leaders, and key relief and recovery organizations to identify the most urgent needs and immediate allocations for the donated funds. The donation will be used to maximize positive impacts on recovery efforts and support on-the-ground teams that are distributing emergency supplies and aiding rebuilding efforts targeting the most affected families in the region.
Carnival Corporation's support will help relief and recovery organizations provide families with access to food, shelter, water, hygiene products, general necessities, medicines and healthcare supplies as they begin the relief and recovery process after initial life-saving and well-being needs are met.
