A cute little gift left by one of our last guests who were visiting on a geode hunting weekend. Nauvoo and Hamilton, IL are popular places along the Mississippi River to come and dig for geodes- round rocks that contain hollow cavities lined with crystals. Breaking them open and finding the surprise inside, would make any treasure hunter excited.
If this sounds like fun, then come pay us a visit. There a lots of creek beds, streams and areas to explore. Geodefest is also held every September in Keokuk, IA/ Hamilton, IL. 🏞🏞

One of our favorite things about our property and its location is the beautiful nature surrounding us. So much fun to explore 🪵🌿🌸🏞 The Nauvoo Stone Arch Bridge spans the drainage area into the Mississippi river and was built by the pioneers of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the 1840s.
I love the historical architecture of the bridge itself and the way the rocks and water flows underneath. It makes for great family photos too.
This great spot is only a few minutes from the farmhouse, off HWY 96 south of Nauvoo. Be sure to put it on your schedule to explore🌲
