SCT was proud to be selected to provide transportation and touring for Team Orago, a girls Volleyball team from Varese, Italy. Team Orago was visiting NYC to play 2 exhibition matches, Holy Cross HS, Flushing, NY and Kellenberg Memorial HS, East Meadow, NY.
The Italian team decided to tour with their entire families, and of course Head Coach Giancarlo Chirichella. This tour called for larger upscale transport that we at Sterling City were quick to provide.
While 'on tour' the families visited The Queens Museum, Kaufmann Studios in L.I. City, Times Square, Central Park and the World Trade Center Memorial.
Holy Cross HS also raised $3,000+ from the event to be donated to Memorial Sloan-Kettering for Breast Cancer Research.

OUR ADVICE? OUR GUIDES?
Well, the best way to experience the city is to explore its attractions in sections, breaking it up area by area. Manhattan is massive with a lot of things to do, so by dedicating your time to particular locations you will end up with the most efficient use of your limited time here. Here at that's what we offer you. Remember our motto,
"It's our town, but it's your tour! 🗽

THE tour for those who want the BIG picture - North, South, East & West - all around the town, in one day! Specifically: The Cloisters Museum in Northern Manhattan, Battery Park, the Southern tip of the Island, Riverside Drive on The Westside, and The United Nations on The Eastside.
From time to time we’ll be able to hop off and explore a bit on foot as well. e.g. Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Opera House, and The New York State Theater, home to the NYC Ballet. Rather than drive by, we like to explore on foot, to get close to the great. And always... stop for some great food. Soup, salad, sandwich? Pastry, coffee & tea anyone? New York City is a veritable moving feast! Come and join us for a lively, historical and very special day.
A tour like no other…of a city like no other!

Some New Yorkers call Staten Island "The Forgotten Borough" - well, NOT BY US
As one of New York's Five Boroughs, we assure you, and we will show you why, it is definitely not forgotten, and why it is worth the trip.
*Admittedly, it is a bit of an excursion, coming and going, beginning with crossing the
entrance to New York's famed Upper Harbor, by way of New York's biggest suspension
bridge, The Verrazzano Narrows Bridge (featured prominently in the film "Saturday
Night Fever" - featuring the young Disco Dancing John Travolta)
*We will collaborate with you to choose from some of the following sites to create
your personal tour of Staten Island (please allow 6 hours for this tour, travel time included)
Sites and Stops can include:

~ The Alice Austen House and Museum
~ The St. George Neighborhood and Architecture - designated historic district and Staten Island ferry landing
~ The historic CONFERENCE HOUSE (c.1680) site of the failed negotiation by Ben Franklin & John Adams to prevent the Revolutionary War
~ The Moravian Cemetery, site of the Cornelius Vanderbilt Mausoleum (vaults are private, off-limits)
~ Old Richmond Town - a unique survivor, a 19th Century "time machine" and vivid window into 19th century rural life in NYC
~ Sailor's Snug Harbor - best collection of early Greek Revival buildings in America, including: Museum, Chinese Sculpture Garden,
Botanical Garden, beautiful grounds with Harbor Views - a treasure hiding in plain sight - a cultural campus, an oasis!
(note: Indie Film fans will recognize many location scenes from Whit Stillman's film "Damsels In Distress" starring Greta Gerwig)
~ see Richmond County Ballpark, home of the NY Yankees Class A Minor League Ball Club
~ good local pizza, and the best Cookie Bakery in NYC - Staten Island - worth the trip!
(We recommend reserving ahead to plan a visit, some sites subject to availability, open/closed days and times, cost of admission, etc.)

English Navigator Henry Hudson...🇬🇧
was searching for the Northwest Passage, instead he discovered what has become known as The Hudson Valley.
The Lower Hudson Valley of NY is comprised of 3 counties, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester. Just a bit further north are the Mid-Hudson counties of Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster.
The Lower Hudson Valley is an area rich in culture, so close to NYC, but you will feel lifetimes away. A tour of the valley is like time traveling. The period (?), 1598, the advent of NY's Dutch colonization. Winemaking, Cheesemaking, Covered Bridges, Majestic Views and lovely 'alfresco' dining, the entire Hudson Valley cherishes it's roots...come and take a visit with us.

QUEENS !!
Remember "It's our town, but it's your tour" ---
Although Geographically the largest by far of New York City’s 5 Boroughs, Queens is often
overlooked by visitors. After all - it’s not Manhattan. Nevertheless QUEENS has so much to
offer that one day is not enough to see it all. With a stunningly diverse population exceeding 2.5
million residents, nearly the entire world map is represented: Central and South America,
Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, and more. Appropriately this tour will visit the perfect symbol
for this global population: The Unisphere - a unique monument, restored and repaired, from the
1964 New York World’s Fair.
We are happy to collaborate with you to create a custom tour of Queens as we offer an
opportunity to visit some of the following sites ---
■ Queensboro Bridge (1909) ■ Citi Field / NY Mets
■ Silvercup Studios ■ USTA Open Tennis Complex
■ Kaufman Astoria Studios ■ Louis Armstrong's
Museum and Home
■ Museum of the Moving Image ■ Flushing’s Asian Cuisine & Culture
■ Queens Museum Of Art ■ Panorama Of NYC
■ John Bowne House
■ The Unisphere ■ Forest Hills Gardens
■ Welling Court Mural Project ■ Queens Waterfront
■ Isamu Noguchi Museum ■ Restored Landmark TWA Terminal/JFK, Architect: Eero Saarinen ---
Choose from among some of these sights to create a unique and memorable tour and
together we will explore some of the layers of history and culture, past and present,
of Queens County ~ accommodating, ever changing, and evolving.

Our Newest 'Classic' Tour, WELCOME TO THE BRONX.
The Bronx is home to the one of the most famous sports teams in the world, our New York Yankees. It's home to one of the biggest botanical gardens in America, a World-Class zoo and a prestigious Jesuit University (Fordham) . The Bronx has affluent neighborhoods as well as
affordable public housing, it even has a quaint New England fishing/sailing village. The Bronx has the most
varied natural landscape in New York City...from steep Hudson River cliffs, to sandy
beaches; even the "Hall of Fame of Great Americans" is housed in The Bronx on a campus designed by
Gilded Age architect Stanford White. Yes indeed...it’s all in The Bronx!
Some of the highlights of our tour include:
~ Yankee Stadium
~ The Grand Concourse
~ Edgar Allan Poe Cottage
~ The Bronx Zoo
~ The New York Botanical Garden
~ The Hall of Fame of Great Americans
~ The neighborhood of Belmont, home to the famous Arthur Avenue Italian Market, Restaurants and Shops
~ City Island
~ Riverdale
~ The Woodlawn Cemetery: Mausoleum Capital of The U.S.
~ The South Bronx! (The birthplace of Hip Hop Music and Street Art which have become two legitimate art forms that
arose from the social unrest of the 70's). Like Harlem and Brooklyn, The Bronx is like a Phoenix risen from the ashes.
Well the fires went out a long time ago and The Bronx is thriving again. We invite you to tour this remarkable Borough!
PS - We might even stop for a genuine (!) New York pizza, and we know where to go!!

ARCHITECTURE NEWS from SterlingCityTours.Com
All of us at Sterling City Tours love our History and the Architecture of our great New York City.
That's why we were saddened by the tragic fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris yesterday.
This morning, one of the great symbols of Paris and all of Western Civilization is still standing! The tragedy nearly destroyed the cathedral just at the start of Holy Week.
Notre Dame Cathedral attracts 12-14 million Tourists each year.
Prayers and offers of help are coming from around the world this morning. So far, 500 million dollars has been pledged toward restoration work in just 12 hours.
The Cathedral is not only a World Heritage site, but one of the world's biggest, greatest examples of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral was built in 1163, during the reign of King Louis VII, and was completed in 1345.

SPRINGTIME IN NEW YORK
The greenhouses are in bloom! See them now, with
*Established in 1891, The New York Botanical Garden (Historically the Bronx Botanical Gardens) is distinguished by the beauty of its landscape, collections, and gardens, and the scope and excellence of its programs in horticulture, education, and science. The gardens were inspired by an 1888 visit that eminent botanists Nathaniel Lord Britton and his wife, Elizabeth, took to the Royal Botanic Gardens near London, UK

I propose a question: If you love what you do every day, is it work?
Speaking only for ourselves, we emphatically say, NO!

Being a NYC Tour Guide is very rewarding because we get to share the City we love.We share where we were born and raised with people who come to visit - to learn about it, experience it, enjoy it...and maybe, just maybe...come to love it as we do.

When John Steinbeck wrote his best seller: “Travels With Charlie - In Search of America”, he concluded, “We do not take a trip. A trip takes us.”

We have seen this again and again with people who take our tours of New York City, whether first time visitors, or repeat travelers. The City is never static, always dynamic - evolving, energetic, familiar, startling, interesting. It’s no secret, it’s everywhere... it’s the people and the phenomenal energy; the locals and all the visitors, coming and going, conducting business, having fun, working and playing.

We see it every time we tour, NYC always delivers, always amazes, always amuses! Come see it with us, and then you will see it for yourself. NYC will not let you down, and it will likely pick you up and you will take home memories that last a lifetime. We’re pretty sure you’ll want to come back for more!
