I cannot pretend to feel impartial about the colours. I rejoice with the brilliant ones, and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns. When I get to heaven I mean to spend a considerable portion of my first million years in painting, and so get to the bottom of the subject. But then I shall require a still gayer palette than I get here below. I expect orange and vermilion will be the darkest, dullest colours upon it, and beyond them there will be a whole range of wonderful new colours which will delight the celestial eye.

An inside look into the #Oberammergau Passion Play Theatre, as introduced by Asst Director Abdullah… played once every 10 years, with the next play on 2030, a cast of 1800 local residents prepare for this season years in advance since the pandemic. They were required to grow hair and not cut it until after the show. The promise to honor the passion and resurrection of Christ once every 10 years started after the plague hit this little Catholic town in 1663. Today the legend lives on, the promise fulfilled. I’d like to share some Tips for those not yet booked. JUST BUY TKTS!! Search for your hotel accommodations online instead of buying a packaged deal or risk getting a backyard or rooftop apartelle for your accommodation while paying 3x Top Price! Dealing with Oberammergau govt authorized travel, you’d think you get a fair desl but we were charged €915 for a 2-nyt stay in a walk up apartment built on top of a retail store, passed as “3-Star” in their brochure (to our shock), no baggage assistance, no transfer info, no AC or working fridge and it’s sweltering summer!! Had we known better, we would’ve planned to leave our baggage at a Munich Hotel and just travel light to Oberammergau by train fr Munich 2 hrs, as you may not get the usual hotel amenities, transfer and luggage assistance. Other than that, enjoy the ambience of countryside living amidst murals and wall arts, savor Bavarian dishes and take home some Nativity scenes or woodworks. Don’t miss the cable car that will take you to the Alps💕 Local hotels cost €200 ave, accessible online, the backyard bnb given us cost €130 for 2 rooms but we paid €915 thru #oberammergau official govt seller! We certainly want to help the locals but not at our convenience expense!
