JANET CARRUS is a producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with projects that span the globe and focus on empowering women, indigenous peoples, and people living with disabilities. Presently, she is producing two motion pictures in 2011 with Joey Dedio: "Musical Chairs," directed by Susan Seidelman and "Tio Papi," directed by Fro Rojas;

As Chairwoman of the Gerald and Janet Carrus Foundation, Janet became actively involved with The Center for Discovery, a long-term residential facility for people living with disabilities. During this time, Janet used her passion for dance to help give the residents their first opportunity to dance through the amazing art of wheelchair ballroom dance. This was such a deeply moving experience for Janet, the residents, and their families, that Janet was inspired to found JMC Independent Productions LLC and develop “Musical Chairs” as a way to share this thrilling experience with the world. Between her many business, charitable, and artistic ventures, Janet, along with her instructor and dance partner Edgar Osorio, competes (and wins) PRO/AM ballroom dance competitions all over the world. Janet lives in Westchester County, New York, is the President of JMC Independent Productions LLC, and Chairwoman of the Gerald and Janet Carrus Foundation.
