TransTrans is based on significant global experience with transportation systems, cities, buildings, and energy. It was launched by E3Think in March 2011 with the support of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and Con Edison. Over the past year TransTrans has hosted a series of topical events on transportation innovation. While many prophesize about transportation in 2030, 2040 or even 2050, TransTr
ans is specifically designed to use implementation ready innovation to address today’s needs and market opportunities. The first TransTrans event was at Tesla’s showroom in Manhattan, with all subsequent ones at Con Edison’s global headquarters. Panelists have included representatives from global leaders like Siemens, Coda Automotive, Con Edison, BCycle/Trek, Alta Bicycle Share (winner of the highly coveted NYC RFP), ThinkGreen, Plugless Power (which is in a pilot with Google) as well as many intriguing start-ups, software apps and research companies such as Blue Phoenix. It has also included keynote presentations from luminaries such as Mark Gorton, Mac Heller and Alex Mashinsky. Delegates have included officials from the NYC Mayor’s Office, NYC City Council as well as numerous City and State officials. Delegates have also included representatives from Wells Fargo, CEMUSA, Citibank, Lazard, BMW, Nelson Nygaard, as well as many leading medium and smaller sized companies.
