I decided that being involved with children was something that I wanted to do when I was 12 years old and my little brother was 2. I would baby-sit my brother and put stuffed animals as his classmates in a classroom setting with him. I would turn my dresser backwards and use it as a blackboard teaching him fun educational activities. He enjoyed learning different things, such as, Alphabets/numbers
especially when they were associated with an actual image, song of the letter, or certain word. As a result, my brother learned to read, write, and spell at an earlier age than most children. Incorporating babysitting with fun learning and educational activities is my greatest accomplishment because I love to see children’s face light up when they are having fun exploring. With this revelation at 12 years old, I decided that I will be a babysitter and expand with opening a Group Family Day Care one day. My name is Salena Liles and I am the owner of Salena’s Little Treasures. I have over 20 years of experience caring for infants and toddlers. Certified in CPR and Assistant Teaching. I went to Marymount Manhattan College for 2 years and currently attend BMCC where I major in Early Childhood Education. I am a patient, reliable, and nurturing
individual. I also baby-sit children whom have disabilities as well. Coming from a family where one of my family members had a disability made me want to allow each child to experience high quality babysitting services without being discriminated against. I look forward to answering any questions you may have. So contact me today and get that little bit of “Me time”, hanging out with your friend, or that special dinner date with your husband/partner for yourself today. Knowing that you are leaving your child in good hands will make that “Me time” even more special for you to enjoy.
