Our shuttle service and mountain bike tours are based out of Oakridge, Oregon a unique, small, charming town and "The Mountain Bike Capital of the Northwest". Oregon Adventures is the only mountain bike tour company in the Oakridge area. Our staff and guides are friendly locals that live in and know our area.

The trails are really wet and it’s going to rain all week, so we aren’t going to open until May 10th at the earliest

I broke knee 8 years ago
It was ok for 5 years , but bad after that
I finally got another knee surgery
So roughy the last 4 years my outdoor experience have been behind the wheel with a little flat water kayaking thrown in
I went on my first real ride in years yesterday. Salmon creek trail is a mostly flat trail close to town you can access it from the bottom of Dead Mt if you want some more miles
“Today’s ride went much better then I hoped
Remember this is written from the perspective of a guy that :
Hadnt ridden in over 3 years maybe 4 until couple weeks ago and that was maybe 2 miles and a run down Dead Mt
Make is sound like I did the cream puff ( 100 Mile 20,000 ft climbing race ) lol
Had knee surgery roughly 1.5 months ago
Will be sober 3 years in July
The plan ride the along RR tracks from my house so Alpine ( my dog) could go
Then Ride old washed out section of Salmon Creek to cement falls only 3 miles
So I Gorilla Taped my ear buds in
Yeah I have funky ears
Head out door. Boom a train
15 minutes later start the ride
Rode my old IBIS Mojo XL
Realized after ride it was in was in full suspension mode the whole time lol
Get out to cement falls
Feel good
Let alpine get a drink
Damn it I forgot my Hydro Flask
hydration pack forgot it all 3 rides so far lol
I’m like ok let’s go a little farther
Out to where dirt road parallels salmon creek road
Get out there still feeling good
Alpine is drinking water out of salmon creek. I’m jealous lol
Keep riding
Stopped at where salmon creek Gorge bridge use to be
man I miss that bridge
Did some goofy glamor shots with alpine
Got out to salmon creek falls
I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to get to that place lol
But water is off
Alpine is enjoying salmon creek water again. Really jealous and thirsty now lol

I forgot the trail actually has a fun flow heading back
My feet are cold from water crossing but my heart and soul are warm

We hope to be open in the next couple weeks but the snow is still pretty low. Only bottom half of dead Mt is snow free. Alpine is 2/3 snowed in

The air is not great and I don’t feel right having people ride in this air
Plus frankly not to be rude we don’t need more people in town right now. It’s just too crazy

Due to Fire activity in our area
Dead Mountain and Heckletooth are currently closed. There are NOT fires on those trails, but road we use to shuttle to them are being used to fight other fires.
We can shuttle Alpine trail from Windy Pass down which still gives you about 9 miles of riding. There is NOT a fire on Alpine but the upper road is being used to fight other fires.

We are opening again for Alpine shuttles
But we can only take people as far as
Windy Pass because of fire activity up higher. The trail is not on fire but is in the area

Alpine is NOT on fire at this point
The fire is in the general area of the very top of the alpine trail in the area known as the chrome toilet loop. This is NOT an area any of the shuttle services drop people
The fire is approximately 7 -8 miles above Kate’s Cut In
